Working on the 40 mm cannons, ran out of barrels so I will wait until the new ones arrive. Also need the 20mm barrels. So working on the smaller details, searchlight, gun directors, etc.

A little more work on detail and finished 40mm mounts on one side. Am thinking about placing the surrender plaques on ship also but they will be too small to read. May just put a small table where the surrender was signed.

Now to start on the other side of ship.

It's an incredible piece of work Padre and even given its larger size the level of detail is eye watering.

Reading through your other threads I'm wondering where you're going to put this beauty!

When you say you've been working on it for months, given your prodigious build rate were you doing other models at the same time or has this been your sole project?

This is really coming together BEAUTIFULLY!!!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

By the way, Is there a way to incorporate the plaque into the stand (to where it could be read)?

It was suggested by another reader to place the plaques on the stand and as it is a good idea I think I will do that. I have already made the stand so I can try it out and see what it looks like. Thanks.

Thats soooo amazing! i always thought that gpm models were impossible to build. glad you probe me wrong. i'm still a newie and my build are kinda crapy but i hope i can build something like this when i get more parctice
btw, what kind of paper did you use for this model?

The model is in book form, preprinted. While I scanned it I am using the the GPM book paper. It is probably about 85-100 lb.

All 40mm mounts are done! Now the 20mm, a lot of them, and other small detail to finish, then the railings. I thought a big model = big parts but I was wrong.....a lot of small parts.

Hi Padre,

Excellent work on your 20MM Oerlikon Mounts. Looking at all those printed sheets would make me crazed even worse than I am. Nice work over all on your Missouri, it will look grand with your Arizona and the rest of your fleet when completed.

Sir, there are some men in white coats that are very interested in your work. They said something about a new studio for you... Or perhaps they said padded white room, can't remember

As long as they provide him a supply of card stock, paper, ink jet printer and ink as well as some of those round tipped scissors to cut stuff up with, he'd probably dig it... angel

Nice work on all those, well, half of those 20mm you gotta do. Looking forward to seeing her with both sides all gunned up.
