I decided to goof around a little today and combined a caboose with a gondola for the track maintenance crew. I think it turned out kinda neat. It still needs more work but that's probably as far I'll take it. Like I said, I was just goofin' around.

The rivet counters need to cover their eyes - but for the rest of us it's a somewhat interesting concept.

I think that might be beyond my abilities. All this took was a dremel cutoff blade and some creativity. It was really pretty easy. I just removed the bottom from the caboose, modified the frame of the gondola and some little stuff to make the stairs and ladders on the caboose work and then, put it all back together. A stiesel..... haven't I seen a picture of one of those somewhere? Or a diesel with steam running gear? I know there are some pretty crazy critters out there and usually if we can come up with something strange, you can find a real one somewhere in the real world!
