GODZILLA!

For Cybergrinder...

Had to resist the urge to do that on all the remaining photos!:D
Thanks for the humor guys!

Here's the fingers and hand...

Fingers may be a bit crooked due to...well me! :banghead:

Holiday break...

Per request. Should be better - but have to go to sleep sometime!

In the mean time...

The tail consists of many two part pieces that combine to form one section of the tail. As the diameter of the tail gets smaller the sections are just one piece wrapped around itself.

Not much gluing surface - will be using more wedges....

LOL! A telltale sign of good humor!

Here we have the tail halfway done - no more falling over backwards! :)
GODZILLA80.jpg

Some of the last parts with extra wedges for support. Still had to color in some of the white guides to prevent them from showing.:snaphappy:
GODZILLA81.jpg

Only took a week - and that's a tall tail!:D
GODZILLA82.jpg

Dorsal fins - there are millions to make...:(

Wow, looking good! At least you didn't hit a tail-spin :)

Now I'm toying with the idea of doing Striker Eureka from Pacific Rim...

Maybe the Jaeger can take on Godzilla.....

(After I finish the Defiant, of course :))

Turns out there is a way to get the Epson model, it involves downloading drivers, then the model, intercepting the file with a virtual printer, another program, and sounds like waaay too much work!

Your model is coming out great!! :)

Thanks zathros!

Here we have a "B" row fin.
This piece is folded in half and then cut. After gluing, I cut off the folded edge (as shown by the arrows) to get rid of the dashed line.

The last of the smaller row "B" fins drying...

Picked up the 2014 movie yesterday :D

Here is the last row of fins with the yellow cut guide facing away.

And today the build is finally finished! :D Not before the movie as planned and not even before the movie came out on Blu-ray! :( But it is finished! :)

With some other (plastic) figures...

A fun model to do. Next time I'll use matte paper for the body and glossy paper for the eyes, teeth and claws.
Blue LEDs for the fins is a must. Probably blow it up larger as well.

My critiques for this model (other than my own lack of skill) is the way some of the parts fit together - rather loosely with gaps that can be seen.
I think the head is slightly too small (perhaps I printed that page at a different scale?) or the neck is slightly too large.

Will work on a few more shots (with lens flare thumbsup) and post when completed. :snaphappy:
