Giant Mystery LGB Cotton Bag ?

Hi ALL!
I got this Gian LGB Bag with a bunch of G trains. It says "LGB , The Big Train". It's huge! Measures 26" X 26", without the handle, made of these rough cotton. What IS the deal with this bag? Was it meant to haul around you G scale trains to you buddies place?

I got one at a merchandise market in Atlanta a few years ago. It was an advertising tool that was handed out to carry catalogs and goodies in as you went from vendor to vendor. Think of it as a huggie or a mouse pad handed out by a business only alot neater and more usesful.
