I have been doing some weathering on the locos and box cars using craft paints. Here are the results. It does take away the plastic sheen.

It has to be just a bit strange working out of your usual scale. You're not just building larger models, you have to completely re-think how close, and how high, and get used to the larger volume of space you're working in.
When I built the Ntrak module, one of biggest adjustments was "seeing" the right "distances". My visual sense was definitely 1/87.1, and not 1/160.
So...my current project is 1/700, the destroyer is only 4-1/2" long, and the carrier is about 11-1/2". Of course, I want to model all the detail I'd model in HO scale! Right!
Anyway, you've answered the challenge well!
Yes Robin, we've seen through the plot.......you ran out of card stock, and had to do something else while all the cereal was being eaten.
