Indeed. One of the first things that came into my mind would be printing greeblie plates and very small parts like lattices and levers to enhance paper models. That would put your model to another level. Of course printing a shape which has a compound curve sounds nice is not all that different from making it from paper. Both structures break down to small triangles and to achieve a completely rounded even surface they will require sanding and maybe filling and sanding.

One idea: Since half the model has already been printed, could you split the CG model at a strategic point so that you only have to print the missing half and join the two parts together later? That would save you some material.
