Nice work, Steve, on both the lettering and the weathering. The old girl looks used, but not abused.:thumb:

Miles, that lawn IS MY LAWN, NOT my dads. my son and i live in a second story apt., dad has a house of his own. THANKS!, for the complement on the Chippewa! to answer your question on how well dads IHC(black) pacific runs, GREAT!!!:thumb: believe it or not, that engine was $65.00 and not only does it run GREAT, but it is quieter then the Riverossi Chippewa i bought Saturday for $129.00. BTW, both, the black IHC pacific, and the Riverossi(Chippewa)pacific run VERY WELL on 18R curves!:thumb: - DeanoMilesWestern said:The Grass on your new diorama matches your dad's lawn SO closely, It's like an optical illusion!
Steve, THANKS!, for the kind words! the key to a GREAT vacation day is to fill it COMPLETELY with TRAINS!!!:thumb: IF i would have made the trip to UP's yard today, that would have made it even better!!!. -DeanoNazgul said:Deano
The Chippewa does look perfect on your Dad's layout...love the color, and with the vintage autos and billboard...it looks right at home:thumb: . one last thing....
How come your vacation days are spent so much better than mine?
Steven, my son is 13, and i am 41, though my mind says I'm younger at times, but my body mostly feels OLDER(now where did i put my canesign1 ). i DON'T WANT TO START A WAR, but, i just bought a Bachmann 0-6-0, and though it looks neat:thumb:, its NOT a great runner. if you are looking for an engine that can crawl, and run smooth at SLOW speeds, i would NOT recommend them. takes a lot of power to get it to move, then you ALWAYS get a jackrabbit start, NOT smooth at slow speeds. Dads IHC premier series engine(the black pacific) runs 1000X better:thumb:. MY THOUGHTS(did i say MY THOUGHTS?), are, if you are going to go cheap, try a IHC premier series engine:thumb:. JUST MY THOUGHTS! -Deanoviperman said:Deano, how old are you and your son? Something I've been wondering for a while myself.
That Chippewa does look like a perfect match for those cars! I need to get myself a small steamer. I saw a Bachman(?) set with an 0-6-0 at Meijer, and want that one now
THANKS GUS!!! heres the after & before together. View attachment 31789 View attachment 31790steamhead said:If you don't look REAL close, or don't know you're looking at a diorama, that pic is of a REAL train...!!! Good job...!!!:thumb:
