Scary is it halloween
I've no sense of occasion, I love spiders all year round! :).
A few years ago I was experimenting with mixing 2D and 3D so the scene elements and view are worked out in blender and the final picture was drawn/painted on iPad.

I'd love for you to teach me how to draw! Good work!
Unfortunately I'd make a terrible teacher :).

Styracosaurus albertensis skull I made a couple of years ago, based on the holotype specimen at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Haven't sold that many of these, my triceratops skull has always been a much bigger seller. I guess it comes down to relative popularity but personally I've always preffered the Styrac with it's spectacular spikes.

Also did a W.I.P. thread for this model. Here's the link for it on the Dinotoy forum if anyone's curious about the research and construction.

As a change from my usual bronze or bone effect paint job I thought I'd try a silver/steel effect for the 3D print I ordered for the photography, it's now in the possession of a young family member.

Never finisheds this project. Got about 2/3rds of the way through. Pretty happy with the way the skin texture was coming out but at some point I decided I wasn't happy with the base mesh and abandoned it. Might have another go at an elephant some day.

There's a W.I.P. thread on Blender Artists.

Please do some Blender tutorials! I'd like to find someone I could work with to create some much needed Blender tutorials. I'd need someone who knows how to do the stuff in Blender, and then I'd write the tutorials.

I love the female form. Those line drawings you did are wonderful. So natural yet you can count the lines you used. You are a great artist. I would live to see more natural line drawings of women. I always wanted to make a nice paper model of a women. Those poses, so natural is beautiful. I wish I had that ability. I'm glad you do. :yesyes:

Tutorials are maybe something I'll consider in the future, my current PC isn't up to scratch for recent Blender versions (2.8+ series). I've done a few W.I.P.s (on Dinotoy forum and Blender Artists) where I show the main points of my methods.

I sometimes make renders of my skull models to serve as placeholders on my Shapeways shop while I'm waiting to get photography sorted. Most of these were made with Cycles, Blender's path-tracing renderer though some of the earlier skulls must've been done with the old Blender internal renderer. Both render engines are really slow on my old/puny computers. If I can get back into some art this year I'll need to source a better PC.

Another very old piece I re-discovered recently, must've done this about 15 years ago if not before, this was done as an emblem/logo for a bridal wear shop in a secluded side street in Durham City. Don't know what happened to the business but I noticed the shop dissappeared a while back.

There were 2 illustrations commissioned, this part was for the 'Mother of the Bride' section which is why she looks a bit mumsy. The other part was the younger 'Bride' version but I seem to have lost the original artwork for that. I've lost a load of stuff over the years so I'm surprised even this part survived.

Here's the 3D print of the DImorphodon sculpt on which the papercraft version is based, colour design is the same as the paper version. This is the 1/5th scale version and I've painted it with Vallejo model color.

A lot went into this model and a few things changed from the project's start to its finish. For example it wasn't my original intention to make a papercraft version but it probably turned out to be my favourite part.

Link for the W.I.P. thread on the DInotoy blog if anyone's interested in my research/modelling process.
