Diesel Loco Of The Week, 8/26:Passenger Power

Here are a few more passenger power pic's:
To bring a little colour to this thread. Here is a Baureihe 229 of the former East-German state railway(DR). It's a post re-unification rebuilt from a Romanian built 219 diesel-electric with West-German engines and systems. The original 219 were so undependable, the knicknames for these locos were "Ceaucescu's Revenge" or "Karpartenschreck"(Carpathian Scare). The DR merged with the West-German DB to DBAG in 1994.
The rest are the well know F40PH old Spectrum, Walthers , PFM.sign1

how do you post a pic on here?

1st Do like you would posting a comment. Then scroll down below the dialouge box to the additional options box. Click the Manage Attachments button. From there you can upload a picture from the web or from your computer. The file must be 68.4 KB or lower.

I hope that this helps you. You can see a tutorial on how to do this by clicking this link: http://www.the-gauge.com/showthread.php?t=14122

Lots of nice stuff here. Most of my passenger diesels are just out of the box so nothing most won't have seen. Here is an old brass E7, the first E7 the Central bought. It's a pretty poor model by todays standards, but I like the paint scheme, made to match the
20th Century "reversed" two tone grey.

HEY there Fiat Fan!! Show us more of your layout, I barely remember what it looks like! :thumb:

I have a passenger locomotive, but I need to find a pic...I'll get to that later!

Miles,

I barely remember myself. Once I saw this thread I went down to the train room just to take this picture. It's the first time since the weather turned nice that I 've been in there. As soon as the weather turns cooler again, I will retreat to the basement for the duration of the winter and will post more pictures.

By the way, Miles, bday1 !

Tom

Passenger Train shots

I like passengers trains - always have...here's a few of mine. My roster includes a Southern E8/9 A+A, UP SD70M that pulls an excursion train around the country, Amtrak F40's, and a Santa Fe FT A+B set that has been recently restored for excursion runs around the town. Railroad management plans on adding an Amtrak P42 Phase V and matching cars to create the "Carolinian" that operates from NC to NYC. And as soon as someone makes one in Nscale...a Southern GP30 pulling various passenger cars on short runs around the NC Transportation Museum - something they do almost everyday.
