I gues I am not a true train nut!
Kevin
Maybe I'm not either as my desktop image changes sometimes on a daily basis. More often than not though, it has something to do with trains. My image before this was of a ranch up near Spokane, WA that I wished I could afford. At 1.75million, it's highly unlikely I'll ever be moving into that place!
Sorry my desktop is full of time, weather, earthquakes and satellites. About 5 or 6 years ago I found XPlanet and I haven't had a desktop picture since.
That is an awesome image! I briefly visited XPlanet (I think it was the right site) and found some things but nothing as neat as the one you've got. That kind of stuff is right up my alley... weather, earthquakes, satellite images, etc.
This jpg is what I have been using for my desktop for some time now, without my desktop icons.

Beautiful shot. Is that your layout?
Her's my current one. It was posted on this forum by Greg Ellman.

I was going to say, I thought I'd seen that one before! I still love them colors.
Here's mine currently at work. One of the weekly pics from Railpictures.
I've always like those long exposure shots' If you like that one, you probably would like this one as well...

It's looks like a highway right up into the sky!
great thread trainnut---nice pictures everyone---here's the image on my computer at work
Somewhere on here I remember you telling the story behind that shot. Great quality for such an old picture. Isn't it ironic that the more technology progresses the less resolution our pictures have?
Here's mine. I took it at Railroad Days in Omaha last summer.

Gotta love those F units.
Well, you would certainly think MY desktop would be like FiatFan's:thumb: , (BTW FiatFan,:bravo: ), but this has been MY desktop for the last 3yrs:eeki:

Allright, now this is probably going to date me... who's that? It looks a little like Phoebe from friends but I don't think so. I think the last Hollywood Hotty I was enamored with was Brooke Burke. Geez, that was like 6-7 years ago.
Hey TrainNut, where can I get that desktop image? I need that!
Right here my friend, right here...

Well Scott, I followed your instructions, but the part about my "graphics program" left me stumped.
Here's the picture anyway, minus all those little cryptic images. They'd be mostly floating in the empty sky.

:-D

As always, another great picture from your layout!
Here's my MacBook Pro desktop I use at home. Currently a photo I took in Flatonia, TX. It's been reseized from 1440x900 to 800 wide to upload.
That must mean that you've got a widescreen monitor. I bet that image must really look sharp on your screen!
Here's mine until I find another one. I usually look for one every few months as theres many good ones on railpictures.net

I love that site but it's been a while since I've visitied. I guess it's time to go and check out all the new images!
Thanks all for your contributions. This thread on the card modelers site seems to be very popular and I can only hope that this one keeps growing and growing as well!
