Do you plan to run more than 2 trains? if you do, you'll soon find the cost is almost as much as doing a DC block system. And most new steam is DCC read as well, some do require some minor adjustments to get the decoder in, but most don't.Will_annand said:First and foremost, the cost. Let's see, yea the 0-4-0 would be nice. but you could kitbash one out of a 2-6-0, by removing the ponies and rear drivers, then shortening the boiler and chassis on the front to get a working 0-4-0. the 0-8-0 could be made by taking a 2-8-0 and removing the ponies and shorting the boiler and chassis on the front.Try finding DC in the following:
