Danscrew's grey BSG Raptor

This evening, I started to build the BSG gray Raptor from Revell-Fan. It will be like the ''Marine Raptor''.

Like my Galactica build, I am going to add some details and lights to.

My first evening.....

It's Raptor fever!! Great start! It will need someplace too land, a three foot long Galactica hanger, even if just half of it, so you can arrange the models inside, making a diorama? I'm just kidding you because your other post lead me here.

Ok guy's.....I wish I had more time for this hobby but there is some update.

I finish the main body. I am going to wait to assemble the pieces together at the end of the build cause all the wire of the engines lights must pass in.

Great job, the lights make it pop. I've always wanted to add lights to some ships, problem is I don'd know how. You would'nt mind sharing your secrets would you? After xmas I plan on building the red evac version. Gonna build Jaybats Raptor as well, kind of a comparison thing I guess.

The lights are not blinkable. Maybe I would have to do the trusters just like your X-Wing but just keeping simple.

I found this XMAS lights that can be lightup with batteries. I just take the number of lights that I need and wired together. To color the bulb, pen felts.

Make sure that it is wired so that if one bulb lows out, the rest keep working. It,'s a good idea except they draw a lot of current from the batteries, which is why people go the LED route. It's a great idea though.

I found these LED lights.......... so I'm gona be ok with my futur project.

Some update with my Raptor.

I buil the biggest pieces of this model and I starded the final assembly. I will finalize the details and will post the complet build this week. So keep around !
