It's no wonder those Cylons could never hit anything when they were shooting...with their eyes bouncing back and forth in their heads like that...

Which it definately is NOT. I start to see why people charge alot to make these.

The helment will look better when all the work is done. (Grind, sand polish).
Will still need an eye.
Thinking about one of the five that Paul has.
How much would it be in US dollars?
BazookaJo said:Okay you electronic wizards - what are we going to do about the voice:grin: ?
Apparently there was circuit for a cylon voice in the 1981 issue of "Electronics Australia" which used an XR2206 (don't know what the heck that is, but it was apparently quite havy on the old batteries).
SiliconChip apparently did an equivalent "Vader Voice" circuit in their September 1995 magazine - but what they mean by 'equivalent' is anyone's guess (Vader and a Cylon don't sound that alike to me).

Now there's also kits like these around:

If it does Dart Vader and a Dalek - could it be hacked somewhere inbetween?
Paul.

ekuth said:Well, as an update from the electronics end, I have successfully built the basic circuit (after tearing it apart and rebuilding it 4 times and staying up until 2:30 AM in the process...)
Still have alot of soldering to do with connecting up the ribbon cable and LED's, but at least the basic circuit is sound, complete, and WORKS!
I will say that if you're going to attempt this, make sure you can solder!
BazookaJo said:Pretty cool, but I was thinking of something to convert your own voice in realtime so you could be more spontaneous.
You'd have to do a 'reasonable' impression of a Cylon and hopefully the filter would do the rest if you know what I mean.
Seen a few types but reckon the Dick Smith Vader box might be the most flexible - I'll try get some feedback from the folks at the Dalek Projekt (I think it's been used in a few of their builds).
Regards
Paul.
