I can't seem to find the post about it,but a short time back someone posted about an auction on E Bay . It was for a desk decoration made for NBC Broadcasting by Lionel. A bogus looking switcher engine & a chunk of track on a piece of Walnut.
A the time it had a crazy bid of 5,000 $ --- the stupid thing finally sold for 22,000 $ !!!!!!!!!

Yep,even if it was original no way I pay that much for it.I could get like nine PCM brass Big Boys with sound for that or 110+ of BLI,Atlas or others with sound!

There is no way I would pay that for any HO model no matter how collectable.

You could go live steam for that much.
