Great Work! The paint is so crisp. The rivet detail still shows. I guess this is why I need a bigger scale. I like looking at the n scale threads though. I'm always impressed with the work.
Total actual working hours I'd estimate around 20 or so. In my opinion the hardest part was the taping and prepping. I added some brass grab irons and the sunshades as well. Other than that, there were no major renovations.
Paints used (all canned spray paints):
- Primer Gray: Testors Light Aircraft Gray
- Blue: Testors Blue
- White: Krylon's Interior/Exterior Flat White
- Red: Krylon's "Fusion For Plastics" Flat Red
- Metal: Testors Buffing Metalizer Gunmetal (for the tank and plow)
The trucks are hand painted with Testors Aluminum.
I don't have any plans to weather, but I may add some more "current" decals. I started the project with the idea that I may make the engine as a 9/11 dedication and I may still follow through. But I still need to find some decals that fit the scheme.
