Good evening,
Ran some trains last evening. A freight on the main and the North Pole Central on the middle loop. It now has 7 cars. A 2007 Christmas box car, a yellow Peabody hopper which will be filled with Hershey kisses and small bars, a gondola with Santa, frosty and some reindeer, another gondola with Christmas gifts, the Lionel operating car with elf chasing deer, the musical box car and the caboose. All very prototypical.
No trains this evening, to tired. Spent 5 1/2 hours blowing and collecting leaves today. Hope one more time does it for the year.
Tomorrow is shopping day so I need to get to bed early.

It's a little on the cool side here. 38° and clear. The high is expected to be around 50° and it will be partly cloudy.
Yesterday I finally got the spark plugs and wires on my car changed. It runs a bit better now and I'm pretty sure the remainder of the problem lies with the fuel pump. I'm not looking forward to doing that job as it requires the removal of the gas tank. That's easy enough in itself but the rear end has to be raised three feet before it can be done. Not an easy job. On the mrr front I finished rebuilding my nephew's old Athearn caboose and now have it bringing up the rear on my general freight.

GOOD EVENING ALL, Lots of sun today, but I don't think it made it to 30. CTT arrived but I have not thumbed it yet. I thumb first, read later. Not a big news day in the train store they said some things have arrived but I have no details. That doesn't help much does it. Have agood weekend..S.J.

Woke up to snow this morning, by midmorning it looked like we had about 1.5" or so. Around noon the Sun came out and melted it all. A little later it started snowing again and we got about the same amount of wet snow again and then it turned cold. This produced lots of home bound commuter problems.
My sister in law called last evening and asked if we wanted to go out with them to celebrate her husbands birthday which is today. They picked us up and when we arrived at the restaurant I found out that I had been hoodwinked again. It was actually a surprised birthday party for me but held a week after my birthday. 25 people were there. Guess I'm just gullible. Got some nice gifts among which were three gift certificates to Cool Trains. And my friend the owner of Cool Trains was also there.
Had a nice phone chat with Don Baker today. The fires spared his area but had a lot of ash to clean up, said it looked like it had snowed.

It's up to 22 degrees now, but gas is down around $1.50 - at least until the other countries start ramping up again and supplies go back down.
I got an "OUTSTANDING" year-end review at work, which was totally cool and may result in some more train $$$

Didn't get much done yesterday. I had lunch with my parents then changed out the couplers on some Athearn and Bachmann cars to Kadee's. The knockoffs were added to the piles of scrap in twp gondolas I have just for collecting scrap. It doesn't take long to get a load of scrap around here.

Been doing a bit of work on the layout today. I got the pedestrian bridge in place and I did a bit of relighting work at the back of the layout.
GOOD EVENING ALL, sunny 34 today but 19 tonite. No trains, Ohio/Michigan game today.Buckeyes won by a whole heap of points. The rest of my day was pretty normal except this is laundry day. No big deal, just the two of us so one load of each takes care of it. I have her sort,not going to get the blame for wrong stuff washed together. Have a great tomorrow...S.J.
