I've done that to my kids a few times... Shown them "Tricks" and they gawk, slack jawed in awe... :D :D

I guess they still can't comprehend that, at one time.. I "actually was" their age.. :) :)

The payoff????? When one of them informed a friend of a trick "she knew".... It just happened to be one I showed her a few months before.... We both smiled, and kept the "secret" to ourselves.... But my hat didn't quite fit the same after that :yep::yep::yep:
 
Good Evening Everyone
Well we had a gloomy overcast day in the 50s. 70 tomorrow. Ran some errands today got a few more to do sometime this week.Have to go to the doc. office for my PSA, as the doc wants the results when I see him, not after. It means two trips but I can understand his reasoning. I did manage to run some trains today for a little while, all went well which is always a good sign. Everyone sleep well,,,,,S.J.
 
S.J. send us some of the 70 degree weather, we are only going to get 50s & low 60s for the next 5 days. wall1 And of course cloudy and rainy along with it. Do hope it stops long enough for the grass to be mowed.

Well I made it through Mother's Day OK, now have an Anniversary coming up 5/27 and wife’s birthday 6/2, then I can relax for a while.

Jeffrey, you've got to stop using that small font, these old eyes can't take it.

BTW, the GPS seems to be working fine after the upgrade, but haven't had a chance to try it in the vehicle yet. Will give it a test Wednesday evening.
 
Good ones Jeffrey and Mikey! That's just great - I love it when someone knows better and they are wrong, LOL! No pile ups, Sir James?! Jon and Doug, we had to run the furnace last night, but it's supposed to be warming through the week. John F - I had the problem on an older computer, so now I always have C as my main harddrive, it just makes things easier.
 
Brutus our furnace therm. is set at 69 right now and it has run several times today. I don't care what the calander says, I go by the temperature. Pie is warm in the microwave,just need to bring out the banilla.
 
Good morning folks

It was 51 F this morning on the way to work. A totally different trip in this morning with sunny skies. Things are still drying out and there are still branches and other debris scattered every where. High today will be 71 F.

I have a meeting this morning and then I am taking off this afternoon. I will be meeting with our Cub Scout District Executive to discuss some pack issues. The most important being recruiting. After several years of poor and ineffective leadership our pack is in a crisis. After our Webelos 2 den crosses over we will be left with 17 scouts. There was a big recruitment drive several years ago and the pack was close to 60 scouts but two years of the previous administration destroyed those efforts. I also need to discuss some issues that have been leftover from the previous administration. Tonight we also have Roundtable with a barbecue.

No modeling last night. It was one of the nights where I am not sure what happened to the time. Helped my son with a report for school, and did a few scout things. We did sit down as a family and watch the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Going to the cable company and upgrading my HD box to the all powerful HDMI full progressive scan box.. this "Should" as I'm told, allow me to watch Full Hi-Def TV and be able to record stuff (trains shows) on my DVD recorder in Hi-Def too..... We'll see....

Right now the DVD recorder isn't connected to anything because the present box doesn't have the outputs it needs. :eek::eek::eek:
 
Morning all. Busy week at work as we'll be slowly cutting over a vastly complicated website I've been shepherding since Jan. Have to talk to my son about some strange expensive numbers he's texting.hamr Got my stimulus check. Very timeley Probably will spend it on lawyers. ;) Better yet, got a surprise early birthday package in the mail from a fellow forumite - three Troublesome trucks -- Thank you Kurt!:mrgreen:

This may be a long post with some pictures on various stuff I've been yamerring about.
First, a couple from our clubs Operating Session:
I found this "transistion car" really interesting, never seen one before.

The next 2 are a little more typical of the "pre session" activity. While we are trying to get organized a couple of guys get a little anxious and hit the rails. ALL of our derailments have happened before we actually start.


Once we get started, more like this;

Now, some of the work we did on the layout over the weekend.
We got the Fireworks Stand, Oil Derrick, Coal Loader all working. Th
e fireworks stand was intenionally possitioned close to the oil well, so we could have a good high platform for displays. The signal bridge is NOT hooked up. All the accessories work off the DCS controller, REALLY COOL !!

Its crowded but it all fits and functions, Barrel Loader, Brewery, (back wall) Culvert Loader, and Saw Mill, Crane is manual.

Our business district, currently undergoing some redevelopment. Electricity has just been finished in area, (work crews left a outhouse, blue building between the McD's and Theatre. The 2 stations are seperated by a dispatch board. (Notice the white lines in the background behind the theatre.)

For ultra-realism, you'll need bucket-loads of leds and a smoke generator.

Just "HAD" to locate them that way, my Brother-In-Law just retired from the LA County Fire Dept., he was Asst. Chief. Was done primarily for his benefit.
 
Afternoon all!

Been busy...Installed Woodland Scenics foam roadbed. A little squishy...probably wouldn't recommend for larger layouts with real heavy engines. Very easy to work with. The beveled roadbed material works well under the 022 switch motors. Really no need to use the sheets unless covering a large area.
