Good Morning..............
It's a cool morning. 40 degrees. Going up to near 50 today with some sunshine.
Busy day. Wife is leaving at Noon, for a 2 day business trip. They take good care of her. Pay all her expenses. I will be alone for a couple days. Peace and quiet. LOL
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

HELP! I'm being attacked by a 3 year old! She is wanting to cut my hair with a pair of plastic scissors. OK, I think she went around the corner, I'll try to type fast before she comes back... It is a beautiful day here in Georgia. Currently high 60s going into the 80s. There is the threat of thunderstorms this afternoon. We are entertaining this weekend, so we hope for the rains for after dark, when the guests are in for the night.

On all things trains, we copied a number of recent programs on the DVR, so I do get to watch them when the kids are asleep. Also, I loaded the space under the layout with the trains that had previously been in my son's closet. Some of the guests this weekend are bringing young boys and I know they will be in my son's room and the trains would not be safe. Discovered I had several TMCC engines I was not aware had been command control...oh well. I think my future engine purchases will be toward the legacy system. I really hope that Lionel or some after market company comes up with upgrades to Legacy.

May all have a wonderful day.
God Bless,
Dennis

Morning all. Sunny today but still cold. Dennis, wait'll she cuts her own hair with those scissors, or another one of her little friend's hair. Moms usually freak about such haircuts.

Good class last night. Full in lab. Have to work latea again tonight - hope to watch some Thomas videos tonight as the bride takes the daughter out for a monthly dinner.

Morning!

Dennis: I agree with Doug! Our 3-yo has a bob. We had to fix what she started...Now we get a lot of compliments on her haircut! Any favorites on the TMCC Engines? I'm think I'm getting the CAB-1 bug...I hope it's not contageous...Doug, Brutus, Sir James...beware...

Signed 3-yo up for Pee Wee Soccer...Starts in May...I guess I'll have to learn the game.

Still working on the base for the layout...cutting holes for control panel and reinforcing sides...only get a couple of hours a day with Bride out.

Kurt

Morning All.....
With all the talk about Dr.s, have to comment on my trip, yesterday. I typically don't go unless I really need to. Wife and her parents are close to being hypercondriacs IMO. MIL & FIL life is determined by Dr appt's, and cant believe ALL the medication.
Anyway went because of concern of my Yucky feeling still hanging around, and settled into a problematic cough. Nurse does BP, Temp, Dr comes in listens to chest, has blood work done. Comes back says don't think you need antibotics, you probably have a ashmetic reaction. Brings out a notebook of statistical charts, you need to loose weight, exercise more, lower cholestrol, blood sugar high. And, take this inhaler 3 or 4 times a day. Alburtal inhaler. Go back to the office share with wife, she says NO Way, that has WAY to many side effects. Instructions say it can be lethal, taken as prescribed. Then I relate the visit, I didn't need to be there. Just send in some lab work, and the Dr. can look at the chart and get the same result. Personal service seems to be lost. stooges8 Not a good experience.

Morning again
Chief the Wal-mart has snowmobile parking and hitching post for the dog sleds. I did get out alive and she bought something but says she has to alter it,and so it goes.

Well..... an interesting night.......

Sister In law, lives in an apartment complex/development.... 14 buildings that all look alike.. Identical driveways etc.....

My other S-I-L (Wife's Brother's wife) and I are in a chat room last night and on the news comes this HORRIBLE fire!!:eek::eek:

At my Wife's Sister's Complex.... :eek::eek::eek:

6abc.com: Fire strikes at Malvern apartment building 4/02/08

of course, the traffic copter is zooming in on the inferno and since all 14 buildings are identical an the roads all look alike, there's a 1 in 14 chance our SIL & her son are homeless now....

The one i'm chatting with, decides to call her cell phone, gets no answer hangs up -- Doesn't think to leave a message, since the Sister In law always answers!!!

Calls the home phone... no answer...

My wife said - don't worry, if she was in trouble, she would call us!! (she knows her sister, I guess) :D :D

Finally, we find out this morning.. It was the apt next store to her, she was on the cell phone calling her father (My in laws) to tell them she was ok.. sign1

She didn't want to worry the rest of the family, because she thought we went to bed early (She called at 10:45 before the 11:00 news)

Had no damage to their apts, everyone is fine :D :D just a bit of excitement :D

Kurt, as to favorite TMCC engine...not really sure. I really like the CNJ H16-44 "Baby Trainmaster", but I think that the "Lackawanna" set from K-Line has the upper hand. It has cloth covered passageways between units, all powered trucks, great graphics and add on detail. And can pull a house...alright, maybe a slight exageration, but it does pull plenty. I got a real good price for it $360.00 from the Train-Station on a special sale. Have a few more, but these two are my favorites.

Doug, Yeah, I can hardly wait for that! She has walked around with scissors wanting to cut her own hair, but we caught that and stopped it...just a matter of time. Just hope she doesn't hurt herself or put a hole in the leather furniture!

I picked up another AT computer power supply for $10. I like to have a spare on hand if the one that's powering my layouts lights decides to kick the bucket.

Jeff I never thought about offering computer power supplies to guage members for the cost of shipping. I threw away about 60 last summer. I help update and repair the schools computers in the summer months for extra income. If we throw out more outdated computers this summer I'll let you know. I'm not positive I'm working this summer yet. I have to take some classes at Purdue for a new engineering program we are starting but I will let the tech guy know I want the power supplies if they dispose of some computers.

Kurt and anyone else who may be interested: I found the same K-Line TMCC Lackawanna F3 set that I got on eBay. The guy has a 100% rating and I think it is starting out at a good price. I wouldn't go more than $450 as you can get a new set for a little more than that at some of the vendors in the train magazines. I have no financial or other gain in this, just had mentioned it earlier and found a deal. The listing is linked below.

It was a nice day. Took care of some business and now I just need to move some things around for our guests this weekend. Hope everyone has a great night.
God Bless,
Dennis

I also have one of these ABA units and it is a great locomotive. I don't think this seller is to sharp as the pictured locomotive is a Lackawanna (DL&W) not an Erie-Lackawanna. Other than that it looks to be a good buy if it doesn't go wild in the bidding.

Jeffrey, You should be able to pick up those power supplies free at computer shops or businesses that are upgrading, if you are willing to take the old computer apart. I have a whole box of them that I have accumulated over the years.

Hey, Jeffrey - love that pic with the workshop and water tower etc! Just great!

Ngauger - glad your family is okay! That's funny, because they had a fire in the complex where my wife lived when we first dated on the news here 2 nights ago? Plumber did something and burned out 6 apartments

Looks like a sweet set, Dennis!

Kurt, I'm fighting that BUG! Hmmm, maybe a Legacy Birthday? Course, then I need an engine to go with....

Don - hope you are feeling better soon!

Doug - yep, the old barbershop game! My sister got me on that one and I had to wear a little wool hat to church for a month! Usher yelled at Mom, but she said he'd be more upset if he saw my head - big bare spots without hair. Kinda like now! sign1

Chuck, hope you stocked up on mac and cheese and hotdogs as I understand that your wife is the good cook in the family!

No pain in feet and no meds today - exercises for a few weeks and hope this did the trick!

Heading over to get icecream from Sir James' house, will throw the dogsled in the back of the truck for those last few miles! Now I just gotta grab Chewy and go! TTFN

Reclinerized too long. Did see Santa Fe on TCM tonight. Pretty good. RT, forgot to tell you on the other forum, sounds like you are on your way to winning this one. Seems to be all fitting together. Sleep time. Chat later as tomorrow is already here.

Morning!

Brutus: e-mailed you ideas on temporary cure for the bug.

Bride still out...Holes drilled in train frame for wire...Hit a screw, and messed up hole saw bit. Work on blocking areas for terminal strips.

Dennis: Thanks! I found a Baby Trainmaster... We'll see.

Watched parts of and end of Santa Fe...Time conflict with Kim Possible movie. 3-yo won that battle.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

with Blue Clear Skies and heading to mid 50's today on the North Coast!

Good to see that Buckeye is coming to the North Coast and we will be having lunch together. :thumb:

I have been very bussy at the museum and will share some of it this weekend on the photo fun thread.

Good Morning...........
Cold and clear 37 degrees. Going up to 50 today with some rain later this evening.
Busy day today. Have a lot to do around the house. Wife should be home later tonite. No train time.
Everyone have a nice day.
Chuck

Good morning folks

Spring, huh? Temperature was 31 F on the way in. I even encounter ice on the roadway at a spot where the water company is working and apparently a pipe was leaking onto the roadway overnight. High today is supposed to be 56 F but as usual we have rain coming.

No modeling. We had Cub Scout Den Meetings last night. I spent the time going through the Scout Closet at the church searching for things we can use for the Arrow of Light Ceremony.

I hope everybody has a good day.
