yes i ride HD, but i used the lock tight on my triumph choppers, hardtail and springer front ends tends to vibrate things loose. last one i built was a 1966 motor in an 1970 frame, the one im working on now is a 1966 motor that will go into a custom after market frame, one piece hard tail, with a 45 degree rake.it will me a modern looking chopper with an old school motor. and when its done i will start the ozzy theme bike, all old school all the way.
Thanks Ozzy, I need to go to the store for more of this anyway,since I can't find the old tube. I might run up and do that right now, so I can play around with this stuff tomorrow.
Spent about 2 hours upgrading software on both computers, then fired down a chicken sandwich from KFC. I'm all jazzed up for my toy trains now - funny how that happens when I actually take some time away from other stuff (like surfing the net) and play with them!
Doug, my friend Ron from work has a GPS and it worked great - his wife usually can't help drive on long hauls as she gets lost. With the GPS, she has been able to take her turns. Too, he downloaded additional maps for some lakes he likes to fish and takes it on the boat with him - he swears by it.

Evening all. Went with Sister-in-law, neice, her friend and Pam to see National Treasure 2. Great movie. Then went to Italian for dinner. Second wife home from FL visiting her Mom. She is sick. She was going with us. We were going to eat seafood after movie. She does not eat meat but eats seafood. First wife does not eat seafood but all meats [she was getting a steak]. :cry: How does Bill on Big Love stand all of that. Think I will stick with first wife [PAM]. :thumb:

Buckeye, bought two JD little tractors that are Halmark orniments [1/2 price]. They have a snow blower on the front.
It is now shirt sleeve weather here now. Cloudy and suppose to rain. Had a little light rain while we were eating. Fed deer and they were waiting. Was in shirt sleeves. One doe is not there now. Found her behind the pond dam yesterday. Rolled her over and no signs of trama unless in the rear. Buzzards had been picking on her hams. Think it was old age.
18 year old Peek is having it bad. Went out and could not have a BM. Stayed bowed up for a long time. Then just laid down on the wet gorund. Had thrown up a little while we were gone. Now walking around like he is dying and whinning. Last time he did this, was taking him to the vet for his "shot". Next morning he was running around like a jack rabbit.

Brutus: I have a companion book to the Thomas omnibus called The Thomas the Tank Engine Man, which is a biography of Rev. Awdry. He really tried to keep the incidents in the books plausible and based on real railways (unlike some of the TV shows). His publishers made him draw the pictures, but then had a professional artist redo them. One refused to go near the tracks to see what trains looked like. Another didn't believe one loco's looks, so drew it differently. That's why there are two 4-6-0s; I think one was supposed to be an atlantic.

Well went out hunting today with OLD BESS, didn't see a thing until we fired them off. Then leaving the farm 5 doe came out ran about 100 yards from truck. We were going to hunt that lower field but decided to take the upper one. Then going over the mountain saw 3 more. DA!
OH WELL.......... now its raining, glad I got gutters cleaned were clogged up.
Ran trains again tonite all good NO PILE UPS!!!
Just ordered from JUST TRAINS a K-line tank engine with TMCC for a great price of $399.
Maybe get on Monday?

Brutus, I would NOT use the red locktite as if you do, you will need to use heat to unscrew the screws or it will strip them. It is fine for automotive uses, where you can safely get heat on them, but for our purposes, Don't do it.
Stuck here doing an emergency. Real big case and now I am just waiting for the patient to be transfered and do my follow up. Hope to get out in the next few hours or so.

60103/David, sounds good, I'll look that book up. I was just reading a website that Doug Murphy sent me a while ago about the "real" lives of the Thomas trains - there is a big page on there about a shortline railway that was saved by locals in the 1950's, all narrow gauge and really wild looking. They had a book about it called Railway Adventure and I just ordered a copy of it in paperback for like $7.50 through Amazon (used).

Its the older K-line, its a 4-6-6. Been wanting one but they were at 600 bucks and thought that was high so just waited it out.

Well schedule been changed some...
Saturday - Going to the "Great Train Show" in Anahiem. Typically an OK show especially for here. All gauges represented. Including a lot of modular layouts. HOPEFULLY, will get some good ideas regarding hinging my bridge. (Been having difficulty with that, track pins at hinge.) Then home and take down outside Christmas decorations.
Sunday - Mount TV over bar area, hopefully layout wiring.
Monday - Definetly wiring unless need to prepare for parade.
Tuesday - Wiring and/or Parade
Then have another project, Chris had Thomas stuff when it first came out about 12 years ago. He has all the die-cast engines and cars. So need to make a shadow box for them. Also has the Thomas Round House, Dock Side, and floor mats. Also, converting the old VHS tapes to DVD, have 1 done out of 14.
Just no time for work!

My isn't that fancy. It just gives me directions. Somehow if I can figure it out I can get weather and traffic which is an extra service.
I work for the DOT and with my new boss my job has changed (for the better). I am doing more design related things and I am out in the field several times a week now checking projects, so it will come in handy.
My wife works for a museum and does out reach programs. Since the museum is in Delaware many of the places she goes are unfamilar to her. She has one coming up south of Dover and will be using it.

Hi Doug, Railway Modeller is a good mag. $13 Is a bit steep, thats about double the news stand price over here!
Peco-rama is a fun place to visit, I went many years ago as a kid. My Dad took me for a day out. My M & D still live in South Devon which is not far from Beer, Seaton where Peco is located.
If you visit and fly into London your looking at about a 4hr drive to Peco.
Brutus, Thomas looks good. We have Hogwarts running around the tree.

i never heat up locktite, never new you was "supposed to " i just take the screw/nut/bolt out just like there was no locktite. its made to come loose when you want it to and not on its own.
LOL Tons of info.. been doing it for a year... Parent child bonding is just one of the benefits... Hiking, and the thrill of the hunt and find is really satisfying. I have train related ones around Eddystone..

GPS....I know a little about GPS. Used the GPS unit on the boat two years ago to navigate through thick fog back to the dock. Our car has GPS, too. Assume you are riding along in an area of the country that you are not familiar with and you discover that your wallet is empty. NO CASH. Our GPS unit will guide you to the nearest bank machine. You can also ask it to guide you to the nearest gas station, restaurant, hotel, park, etc. If Columbus was a more cosmopolitan city, like Roseyville, we would also get the traffic information, but for now we still listen to the radio for that info.

Nick, SC2 are the best to control switches and if Legacy doesn't control the SC2, well let's say there will be some of us very upset. TMCC control is based upon a signal. SC2 picks up the signal and flips the switches based on the specifc command. Very simple. I use three SC2s to control switches and accessories. As long as they get a strong signal from the track they work great.
