Now that I got that out of my system,

A Great Big Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

We had a great day, went to my daughters, she had 14 there.

Welcome to Floyd. Hope you enjoy visiting the coffee pot.

Frank, Layout is looking good.

I actually ran trains a little tonight, taking some items off to make room for the Christmas train.

This has been a weird weather day. Started off clear, got up to low 70s, then clouded up and rained, got windy and turned colder, supposed to go down to 30 tonight. When I got home about half of the pond surface was covered with leaves, spent some time skimming them off.

Been watching USC give Ariz State a drubbing, Now 44-17, with almost a full quarter to go. May go to bed, losing interest.

....tired....

Working tomorrow. Wife and son are getting up at O-Dark 30 to be at a store by 4AM for a 5AM opening, then up the street for another opening at 7AM and then need to be home by 8AM so I can go to work... Hope we get a Wii this time.

I found several places that the overton cars for my new train.... Will play with the new set this weekend. I'm just leaving it up until wife makes me take it down. Since part of her present(s) was a Christmas tree that she will be using for the holiday, I think I might be able to keep it up if I keep quiet about it so shhhhh - don't tell on me!

Hi All, So this is where everyone is hanging out. Thanks for the invite Brutus & Chief.
Hope everyone has recovered from all that turkey.
Have the day off today. Painting the ceiling in the gamesroom.
I will emerge later with a light coating of white emulsion. LOL

Nick

Morning!
Great Thanksgiving with friends!

Doug: Any trains in the windows downtown?

Working on Christmas layout today, well the supports anyway! Bride wants eldest to have a fort with lighting under the layout. 4x4 posts approved for legs, and Christmas lights for lighting.

Bride also stated that I should build some cases in the office for the trains! Hhhmmmmmm...Maybe I can get a heater approved for the garage while we're at it???? I've been pushing for a natural gas unit as the gas line is only 3-feet away. I just replaced most of the gas line in the house with the last remodel. (relocated some lines, and replaced leaking unions)....now it's too cold to add a gas line.

It's really cold out there.

Congratulations Mad Hatter!

Kurt

Good Morning All from NE Ohio
Where the temp is 32 deg and light snow falling

Our turkey day want well and Spanky is safe for another year wall1

Today we have a special open house at the museum for wheel chair bound kids so we are off to help set up this morning.

Good Morning.

Built the first of two add ons to accomodate the extra couple of inches needed from the track plan.

Once this is all firmed up, I'll trim this to a smooth contour mirroring the curve of the outer loop with a four or so inch offset:

Good Morning............
It is a cold and frosty 30 degrees. Going up to 40, today with partly cloudy skies.
Today, we are staying home. Have a few chores to do around the house. It's time to start digging out the Christmas lights for the 10 trees outside. That will take a couple of days to decorate.

Frank53...... That addition looks good. I was wondering how you were going to do it.

Well, it's time for breakfast.
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Good moring all.

Back after a few weeks. Had to take down one of the two parts of the layout because the wife needed storage. Ended up moving the computer and work table into another room. I now have a place to work on cars and buildings off the layout.

The new "Ames Ridge" is now a 14x25ft around the walls layout with a six track yard (2x4ft). The downtown area is built and I am going to be adding backdrops and more construction in the weeks to come. No photos since $$ are tight. Rather spend it on trains than a digital camera. John

'Morning from a v. cold and sunny Crystal Lake. Thanks for the invite Tom, personally I would love to take my time across Ohio and Penn on the way to Connecticut. I basically take Rt. 80 all across...

Kurt, do you mean trains in the windows of the department stores in downtown Chicago ..... or in the windows of Higgbees (sp) in the Christmas Story movie? Nothing in the former yet but I haven't walked uptown to Fields, I mean Macys...

Perry created a 'fort' under his old marvelous Southwestern-themed layout. I don't think he posts here but we've seen his photos on OGR and CTT - with the dinos.

I have to figure out how to take photos of the overall layout to give you a sense of the track plan. I'd be interested in feedback about some changes I have in mind to add a second main line so I can run Percy and Thomas 'opposite' each other. Then need a winding sort of mid-level route for James. I think I'll flip the yard too...

Hi all, it's COLD in central Alabama this AM. Windy, too! Still, the wife, eldest daughter and FIL got up at 3:00 AM to fight the crowds shopping. Not me! I do most of my shopping on-line.

Debating whether or not to put up Christmas layout this year. Most of family will be gone to Disney World for Christmas. I'm hanging around due to Mom's deteriorating condition. Not much point of putting it up if only me and dogs around to enjoy it.

Had a great Thanksgiving, now to wade through the leftovers!

Glad to hear everyone had a good day!

Tom best of luck for the museum and the kids day today. What a worthwhile event, you guys are doin it right! I'm sure the euphoria will be running high! However, just remember you don't want any BUGS at the layout.

Going to put up our outside decorations today. And hopefully my speaker will arrive for the AC4400, miss them running.

May actually go to the club tomorrow afternoon, an opportunity to meet Geno.

Enjoy the weekend !

Hi guys...Looks like everyone had a great Thanksgiving...!!! No crowd bashing for me...got trains to work on. Let's see some more pictures from you guys....Sounds like you all have some very nice layouts..!!

SpankyB...Terrific work you're doing for the children...You'll be well rewarded for it some day..:thumb:

Morning all. Been up for hours. Been baby sitting Grandson. PEW!!! Stinky boy. Had to change diper while Mom was in the shower and Grandmom was asleep. G'Mom went shopping at about 4 AM. Not me. Grandson got to see his first electric trains running. His Dad has still not put his Thomas set together. Claims he is too busy working. Maybe a Masters in Engineering does not educate you to be able to run an electric train. He just looked and staired. 7 months, give him time.

Hatter, are we all invited to the reception?

Dr. John, why not. Then you can run it anytime you please and no one to say otherwise.

Town has Nextel [I have Alltel] and mine has been beeping all morning. No service. Must be a big failure. PD uses it to intercommunicate without using radio. Guess they will have to chat by radio. I talk to Town staff and PD by Push To Talk.

Turned cold and windy here. Was going to get up leaves but may not. May just rest. Have a good one.
