Coach lining in 1:76 scale

Has anyone thoughts on coach lining in HO/00 scale? I've been advised to
consider a simpler non-lined livery for a 1:76 scale (00) Great Western Railway steam railmotor as, when you reduce to 00 scale, lining has to be much thicker than scale in order to be visible, and thus overscale and intrusive.
I'm really keen on the 1912-22 crimson lake livery that had thin lining around windows etc, but am wondering whether I should go for the later, unlined chocolate and cream.

I've seen pictures of 0 scale crimson lake coaches where the lining doesn't
seem too intrusive.

Has anyone experience with coach lining at HO/00, or pictures of models
with lining - any railroad would do?

C-D-S offers dry transfer stripes (lining) in several colours, with their thinnest width being 1/64". For decals, the Champ catalogue also shows several colours, the narrowest lining being 1/2" in HO scale. Both products consist of multiple straight lines, so you'd be on your own for curved corners. :-D

The Historical Model Railway Society offers the old Pressfix line of transfers; this includes a number of lining variations. I think a dealer (in Ontario) I know would have some.
