Was that station photo taken at Cartier? or White River? I took the VIA Budd car from Sudbury to White River and return last August. If you're looking for an awesome train ride, it's the best kept secret that VIA has.

Hi Chris. The spelling is "Schreiber" but the local pronunciation is "Scriber".

Back in the 50s I rode the CP Canadian along the north shore of Lake Superior on my way to Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. The section from Marathon to what was then Port Arthur and Fort William was the best. Sure beats the very flat priaries around gruesome Griswold.
Sure would like to make the trip by steam.
