Building my own x-wing

well..

The problem is the wings are closed and filled up with a sheet of carton to give it more strenght.
The wings are attached to the engines..but the underside of the engine is also an open engine so i cannot use a copperbeam which goes from the one to the other wing.
Also i have a metal tube in the fuselage which is used to make it sturdy...wing mechanics and to install the x wing to the wall mount..

and because of the tube i cannot use a large beam to attach the 2 opposit wings.

i slept a WHOLE night about my wing problem..
And the only way i could imagine was to fixate the wings in my position i want..(that's the battle mode)

So i glue them to the hull and i hope that they will stay up.

it's the imcold x wing only a little bigger..
and with some bigger problems :)
Thanks for the info! :thumb: I didn't know that this was the kit's name; just thought you misspelled the company that made the X-Wings (Incom) :eek:ops::eek:ops::eek:ops:..! Your build is fantastic..! I LOVE IT!

You did an OUTSTANDING job on this model.
This is definitely studio (and museum) quality work.
KUDOS to you on a FINE job, well done.
I like how you have it mounted to the way.

Thanks for the link! :thumb:
This is truly the best X-Wing model I have ever seen. WOW!:inw:

Yes...

today the x wing mounted again and the wings stay in battle mode :)

Lets the soldering begin...

You would get a fortune for that model if you ever decided to sell it. I know people say, "No one could pay me enough", and that is usually true, but I think you would be surprised how close they would come to "pay me enough"!! :)

.

I'm open for bidding :)

nah, just kidding.....he looks just to great to sell..

I hope that i get a tie fighter to go with it....but that's still in progress....

first i have to get those light working.

Shame about the unreleased one, it looks top notch. I didn't know about Ninjatoes' one (seems like we took a similar approach to some sections), it looks pretty good as well!

yes the unreleased one looks like a great model....but i think many details are only painted on it..the same problem i had with the falcon.

Ninjatoes one looks great but i don't know his painting skills...
The paint can give the fighter a step to another level..or give it a toy-feeling.

And your art...well i worked a little with it and untill now its mind blowing..
So i think and hope that your magic will shine on the tie-fighter and give it the same quality as the x wing to the tie fighter.

And then i'm a lucky fan.

I totally agree with you on imcold's work - they are amazing!!!!
I'm also waiting for his TIE Fighter... ;)

At the moment i'm connecting all the cables...

and yes i made mistakes with the connection part...:)

But untill now all the leds work.
The engine burn and flicker..
the R2 i tested a few of his leds.

Only i have to change the program a little
because i don't connect some of the leds in serial.

example the engine i wanted to connect all the 4 leds in serial.
but i saw that the flicker leds didn't burn that much..
so i scaled that down to 2 leds in serial and that works perfect.

the same with the cockpit..
i wanted to put some LEDs together but now they are getting all there own connector on the ARDUINO
this way is als when i want i can change the light-program without any large problem.
