building my own snowspeeder

Reality and "Star Wars", the two will never meet! You're right about scaling up, I've encountered this on a few models, it can come from just a design detail left out, or errors in scaling. Not a simple task. :)

That's the fun with star wars....it a fairy tail. :-)

Some little errors i don't care...but when they get to large i really don't start a project...
That's why i didn't do a AT-AT or an AT-ST..
There are some fun little building projects of those 2..
But i think when blown up...they are a large paper-problem.

There quite a few models that suffer from this. Comes with the territory! :)

Ok..
started with detailing the part behind the cooling ribs..
maybe there will be a little more details...but i want the ribs installed.
So that i can start with the bottom of the speeder.

That looks great. The ribs (vanes?) will cover much of it, so too much detailing may not be worth it. :)

This is going to be interesting..
Today made my belly table..:-)
So that i can work on the underside of the speeder..

I made some flaps..they look good..
but i think because of the orginal construction boxes i'm going to have a prob..

But i still have to figure that out.

I have extreme confidence in your abilities. I personally enjoy how you figure this all out and put it all out therefor everyone to see. It makes forum reading very interesting! :)

These build threads are among the best on here, and the way you show How you build things is top notch.

Keep it up, you are a hero to a lot of folks out here.

:-) Thanks for all those kind words..
I hope that i can help someone with those pictures..
And it's fun to see (also for myself) how i did it..

today i tried to construct some more of the underside..
it looks quite nice..number 1 i still have to cut but i only can do that when i have the complete side and see were every part stops.

And that is again something for tomorrow.

It is really starting to come together nicely.
I like that you are using corrugated cardboard for the main structure.
Keep up the GREAT work.

:-) Yes it looks like everything is going to fit like i want to..
I only need to make the cover in the middle where the mounting point is..
And then i have every piece..

I used the normal cardboard because of the size i needed something sturdy..
So that it doesn't collaps...maybe i have to place some spacers but that is for monday..now it's WEEKEND :-)

I have glued the paper with the correct color on the belly parts.
And began with attaching it to the ship.
Also i'm making the detailing..
first with a marker...make it a little dirty..
And when completly attached..there will be some greebles.

Wow! This is an awesome build, I will be following this thread with great anticipation.
With the scale you build on you'll need a whole room to keep and display everything.

yip...in my computer room..there is still space for 2 ships..then is time to build my star wars attic :-) there i can put some more models..

Yes the wings are glued ..
And one wing came of...>AARRRGHHH..uh sorry :-)
I tried to fix it..
by give it some liqued-glue...uh..
and reinforced it with some hot glue..

I hope that will be enough.

But it looks nice..

The underside plate what is used to cover up the air intake (i think)
is ready :-)

i tried to copy it from a prop replica.
Now the last 2 last parts and some raised details...and then i think and hope that the underside is ready :-)
