Is it true - no one started to build the beautiful gun yet?

Whether or not - here is my build, but before building starts I had to organize some dinner for my family and to organize the correct music as background -

But now everything is ready to start.

So thanks to RF for sharing the gun.
I will not colour the edges at each stage of the building as I will colour the whole gun at the end.

So I started - following the description - with the coloured version. The parts fit together perfectly, although
I always have some troubles of cutting thicker cardboards - the cuts are mostly not perfekt - but I do my best.

Thank-you (RF) for your offer to help - and right now the first question:

How to use the former for part no 3? The formers don´t have a hole but as I understand the part 1 has to be put through part 3, but with formers without a hole, this seems not to be possible.
(in German for better understanding: Wie werden die Former für den Teil 3 eingesetzt? Teil 1 sollte ja durch Teil 3 geschoben werden, die Former haben jedoch kein Loch, sodass dies nicht möglich erscheint.)

Not a problem - thx for sharing the corrected parts.
@ RF - which paper did you use - I am using 160mg paper, as I also used for Hawks Blaster and it worked fine.


While waiting for the answer I was cutting out the next parts and also finished the stand.
Next is finalizing part 3 - and I think I will use at least 2 formers.

160 gsm is fine. I used 300 gsm card for my build which made some of the formers obsolete. BTW, you may cut the notch of the formers larger if necessary. One of the biggest advantage of the kit is, you may finish all sub-assemblies in the order you wish. The way I chose for the instructions was the simplest and most logical approach in order to avoid any jumps from one end of the gun to the other and any repetitions. So if you would like to start with the grip instead with the barrel for example, just do it. I would not deviate from the order of the final assembly though.

you are right also with 160 gsm paper part 3 is stable even without formers.

But now I have another question. I finalized parts 1 to 7 (including the Muzzle).
1.) What is the function of 1c? Is it to connect the muzzle with part 3? Is it to enlarge part 3? - How to use?
2.) How to connect the muzzle with part 3? How far is part 3 inserted into the muzzle - or is it not?

1a, 1b & 1c are glued together into a tube. 1a is an open tube, 1b and 1c are the covers which close the tube.

The muzzle (= parts 6a, 6b & 7) has no connection with part 3. It is simply glued to the coloured (front) end of 1a (= it is glued to 1b).

I suppose you are referring to the barrel which consists of part 2a/2b/2c, 3, 4 & 5.

Assembly is so easy that you don't have to think about that. Just glue the end cap to the white end of the central tube. Then push 3 completely over the tube and glue it to the end cap. To do so apply glue only to the cap, not to the tube. Then proceed with 4 and 5 the same way. You don't have to think, just push it over and enjoy seeing everything fall into place.

BTW, the white part of the central tube is no alignment mark; it is white to save ink only.

p.s. only kidding about the Mushrooms, I love mushrooms, especially fried on a grill inside a Philly Cheese Steak, or filled with Crab meat, topped with a fine Cheddar cheese.!!

Oh, NOW I got it. OK, the black part 1c will be renamed in "1d" (I KNEW I forgot something..! ). It is formed into a ring and glued around the barrel tube after the muzzle has been attached. Please look at the pics at the bottom of the page.

No, :Nonoooo: the description is really good, beside the double naming of 1 part, which confused me, although I supposed to use
the part in the way RF described.

nearly forgot the formers ;-)

assembling recommendation: first part 14 and 15 to 13a and 13b - afterwards 13a and 13b together - but not closing fully - before closing insert the formers and then complete 13a and 13b

was a little bit tricky to to glue 14 and 15 into place after having partly glued 13a and 13b

Looking very good!

Again, you don't have to think where to attach the formers. They fit in the front, the middle and the aft portion of the part.

The way you have put the elements together in the last pic is fairly interesting; it looks like a smaller Cylon pistol from the new BSG.

- Yes, you´re right - a little bit like the Cylon pistol.

Next steps cut and glued together - everything fits together perfectly.
Just one thing: I will reprint the trigger again with thicker paper - it is a litte bit too soft with 160mg paper

As mentioned I did a second trigger. And the next parts.

Next will be the grip, which - I think - is alway one of the most tricky parts of a gun.
We´ll see if it the grip will cause troubles - keep you updated.
