Battlestar Galactica Radiatron/Dosimeter (Medical Scanner/Communicator/Voice Recorder/Transmitter/Transponder/What ever it was needed for at the time)

Quite awhile back, @Revell-Fan created a template for a device that was heavily used throughout the entire series of Battlestar Galactica (in one form or another, and was used for MANY THINGS). There are five different variants to this device. I will be posting photos of all five variants in this thread.

Here are the parts for the Radiatron/Dosimeter


The formers are assembled.


The outershell is asembled.


The formes are inserted and the outershell is completely closed.




Here are all of the greebling parts.


I applied the backplate, battery pack cover and screw heads.


I attached the rest of the greebling parts






This shows how big it is in mt hand.

The next one in the queue is the MEDICAL SCANNER.
Here are the parts sheets for it. Again it is a very simple,easy, and straight forward build.


Starting with the formers. The formers are assembled.


The outershell is assembled.


The formers are inserted in the shell.


The outershell is fully sealed cloesd.




I applied the backplate, battery pack cover and screw heads.


Here are the greebling parts for the front and sides.


The greebling parts are attached in place.

BTW, that black spot on your cutting mat is a bit irritating. I was trying to wipe that weird bug off of my screen for a minute till I noticed what it really was...

Moving on to the Medical Scanner (WHITE VERSION). This one is exactly like the (regular) Medical Scanner exept that it is white in colour. This version was featured in the BSG episode "Experiment in Terra".

The formers are insertec and the outershell is sealed shut.




I applied the backplate, battery pack cover and screw heads.


Here are the greebling parts for the front and sides.
(*NOTE* When painting the circles with numbers "2" & "4", I mixed a little bit of black paint with some green paint and used it to paint the edges of those two circles.)


The greebling parts are attached in place.

This is the Medical Scanner that was featured in the BSG episode "GREETINGS FROM EARTH".

(*NOTE* This model lacks some of the greebling that the previous models have.)

The skin is assembled.


The formers are inserted and the skin is closed and sealed.




I applied the backplate, battery pack cover and screw heads.

I have just seen that the numbers sit on small translucent discs on the device, so yes, they are raised.

Whilst conducting some research for more information on other projects, @Revell-Fan found this RADIATRON (GREY version) that was featured in the Buck Rogers episode "VEGAS in SPACE".

This version was 'redesign' of the Radiatron/Dosimeter (the first one that I built) that was featured in the BSGF episode "War of the Gods, Parts 1 & 2".
