I remember that too. There was a line of bikes that had molded plastic pieces that made some look like motorcycles. Some were done really well. They were around for a very short time. My memory isn't sure if there was an exact Battlestar bike. I do kind of recall it, but I imagine someone would have pulled one out when the series was one. I remember the "V-Room" fake plastic motors that kids could add and made the motorcycle sound. i found a better picture of the B.G. Space motorcycle. The whole top piece wouldn't be too hard to make for a real motorcycle. It's tempting, I don't think I cold suffer the humiliation, unless I had a real turbine engine to go with it! :)

Ever heard of the Y2K? it is a motorcycle that has a jet engine, they clocked it going 240 mph on a airport tarmac as a test... they said that is not even the top speed of it, they have no clue how fast it could go.
 
There have been a few of them. I liked this one best. Being an avid bike rider though, and looking at the specs, these things are pigs. A straight line bike for sure.

I wouldn't mind a fully dressed Harley, and I'll take mine with a sidecar please. I had a Velorex sidecar for many years. I was able to ride in the snow. I had special straps I ordered from Germany to attach to the rear wheel to give traction when the snow got real deep. :)
 
Why you all like such heavy metal bikes, which needs so much power just to get rolling, and all of them have a big fear of curves and turns ;-) ??????

I just like my little small 600cc bike, although 10 years old but still fast and aktive enough.....

I think the 600cc bikes are perfect for 98% of society. My Suzuki 1983 GS750ES pre-dates any 600, and my size might find one straining to get me around. I do agree though, the new 600cc bikes are phenomenal. I still have my Suzuki and is is in excellent shape. It only weighted 40 lbs more than my 1975 CB400F Honda (which I also still have). As I said, that jet bike is a "pig" of a motorcycle.

My bike is a spitting image of the one below , I even have the same Lockhart lower fairing pieces which are next to impossible to get. Mine is the Silver/Blue combination not white/red, and I did not paint the rims like this person has, it is starting to look like I may though, maybe next year. I love this bike, and in Connecticut's windy roads, I still have many people trying to keep up with me in the back country roads. I purchased both bikes new.

My CB400F looks similar to this one. Kaz Yoshima made the pipes and turned my carbs into smooth bores, my brother in-law new him. My CB400F is now 456cc's, has the Yoshima X3 race engine in it. I was clocked at 135 mph on it. The bike rev's easily up to 15000 r.p.m.'s. It now weighs almost nothing because of everything that was removed. I purchased it new in 1976 and rebuilt in in 1978. I used to smoke 1000 c.c. motorcycles with it, but you had to rev the engine really high up. It is slowly coming apart,as I am restoring it, cosmetically, it only has 11,000 miles on the rebuilt motor.

I would like to get this bike (pic below) if I had the money, 1250 c.c.'s! A $12,000 dollars though, I'll wait for a used one, if at all!

To put it simpley, I am 2 Meters (6' 6") tall. I am a BIG GUY, so I need a BIG BIKE.
Me riding on anything like what is being posted, would be like a an average guy riding a pocket racer. sign1
It just looks wrong.
 
The best part of the show was when the two turbo bikes engaged the wings

and took off into the sky. The LA biker group left all kinds of paint and skin on the freewaysign1

I wanted to make a Driving-license and had definetly this one in mind.

Still fast, agile, can make 175mph if want, but just i'm more a cruiser type.
Perfekt at the motorway, winding streets, citylimits, traffic-light-starts and even for longer vacations around. Best use is at winding serpentines and small (not straight) streets....

The one thing is, that i didn't cleaned it all the years long, just once i scruped it a little, but this is 8 years ago. So it looks not like new, it looks like a dirty street warrior, albeith the technic is very good and well-groomed. lately i noticed some moose at the rearview-mirrors ;-)

That is a sweet looking bike. You would love the New England Connecticut backgrounds, There are turns around here that you can scrape the pegs at 25 mph. This is motorcycling. Nosports, we share the same enjoyment of surgically slicing up the back roads!!:thumb:
 
Hello, again!

A small update on the bike. I have begun shaping the front section. I am very pleased with it and think that it is almost ready. I have used different colours so that you can see the different parts of this section better. The engine got its greeblies and the exhaust (or cooling?) vents were finished. Don't worry, the pedestal for the helmet is intact and will be recovered (it is partially covered by the mesh at the moment) :mrgreen: .

The next part on the list is the fork. The attachments show the first version of it but I must admit that this one is far from perfect. I thought that the curved front section of the bike was difficult, but compared to the fork that was a walk in the park. The shape of the fork is fairly weird. In addition, SketchUp sometimes seems to have its own will which makes it extremely difficult to re-build it. I take my time and keep you posted. CU! :wave:
