What's the best way to convert Bachmann rolling stock to Micro-Trains or Atlas trucks? If I recall correctly the Bachmann cars have different bolsters that use screws instead of friction pins to hold trucks on. Any help would be much appreciated!
Brian,I take my Xacto knife with a fresh #11 blade and carefully ream out the hole in the MT truck till it fits over the B-mann post.I keep the screw mount because this allows easy ajustment of the free play in the trucks.
I use a round needle file to enlarge the hole in MT trucks to fit the Bachmann bolster and secure the truck with the bachmann screw. The file I have is real close to the bolster size so I know I'e filed enough when the file can pass all the way through the hole.
