Can anyone tell me where to look for instructions on adding an avatar under my user name. I've looked and can't find it anywhere.

click on "USER CP" then "Edit Options" and scroll to the bottom. Should be a section there with some buttons or something to upload an image. I think there's a limit to the size, just follow the directions that are shown there.
