Athearn Auto-Max cars are out

I saw one of Athearn's new Auto-Max cars (CPR) and it looks pretty nice in it's package. Did not touch though. I was tempted to buy it but luckily the $45 CDN price tag was enough to get me stop. Does anyone on this list have any of these cars? Can you give some impressions about them? Thanks.

I don't and oddly enough, I barely know about them. I'm waiting on a hopeful announcement for an SD-70. Maybe they'll make NS? I hope so.

Hey, I got some of these cars and they run great!! I only had to pay $30.00 each for mine. Nice car.

Scott, that works out to roughly $40.00 CDN... but before importing it to Canada. In the end the Gov't always wins. So $45 CDN isn't that bad, but I have other commitments coming up... like Kato AC4400's.

rcwatkins, Kato is doing the SD70M in NS & UP with the flaired radiators. You guys are lucky. I'm holding my breath on the Athearn SD70's until someone else pops for a few and does a review.

Where the heck are my Kato SD70I & SD75I's for CN!!!

I have one (or do you call it two?). It requires very wide turns to work properly though - 30 inch radius is ok but even 28" is tight. They are cool though if you have long runs.
