Go to the beginning of this thread and it is posted there. This model is originally 1/148 scale but if you read a few postings back, it will tell you how to upscale it to 1/72 scale. There are many other ALIENS papercrafts as well and several other variations of the Cheyenne Drop ship, the landing pad and the APC. I am doing this build thread, because there are many out there who have downloaded this Craft and have had a hard time constructing it. As mentioned earlier on, the short wing is the problem area. My model is heavily laminated and that is why the landing skids are modified to withstand the weight. It does not come with a cockpit, but if you have a 1/72 scale jet fighter, you can borrow the cockpit parts for it. Download it and have fun and do not forget to thank Jan the creator for his works in making it possible.

The front weapons array bombs and missiles are made from a paper stick
On the missiles, I cut small triangles and placed them to the from and back of the missiles.
On the fatter missiles, I wrapped a strip of paper to the desired thickness and then I used my dremel to round the front of the missile.
The stripes are hand-drawn with a drafting pen and the rear exhaust are penned in. So much for now and see you all soon with the last installments of the dropship. The APC is waiting, as well as a landing pad/platform.

So on with some more details on the rocket pods.
The rockets are made from a section of a tooth pick and the bigger rockets are from paper stick from an ear swab (Q-Tip)
The lettering and lines on the missiles, are made with a drafting pen
The rockets are separated by a laminated wall and painted slate gray.
The pads are attached to the short wing by pins into holes drilled into the wings and pods.
The pods are attached in the deployed position but you can place them in the closed version as well.

For the deployed array, I Reworked it and cut and sliced the skin and built the pod up. Here is a finished pod next to the one to be made next. The last picture is of the main parts cut and sliced and a stack of tooth picks for the missiles.

Now for the details on building the pods. Painted the tooth picks and set aside to dry. In the meantime, The ends of the pods are laminated and when dry/set, carved out the missile center section and punched, cut and drilled the openings. NOTE: cut, punch and drill the openings while it is still attached to the lamination sheets. The parts are too fragile to cut once the section is cut away from the lamination sheet. Glue around the end sections. The lamination allows for the removal of those nasty tabs and make a better seal. Once the part is boxed in, start to make internal bracing.
Now for the details on building the pods. Painted the tooth picks and set aside to dry. In the meantime, The ends of the pods are laminated and when dry/set, carved out the missile center section and punched, cut and drilled the openings. Still more info on those wing mounted weapons pod. Covered in the inside walls of the launcher pods. I colored the walls an apple green color but slate gray is also adequate.
There is an indentation on the bottom of the pod that is trimmed out and replaced with another covering and then painted a dark olive green.
The missiles are cut to the appropriate length and then placed one stack at a time into the well. There is a spacer placed in between the missiles the same width as the toothpick. Once the first stack is set. Place vertical separators and then repeat for another row of missiles. The sequence is simple, yet effective. See you all next posting.

Thank you for the compliment Ninja. I hope that this thread will help others to attempt the build again.
Almost done with the Dropship. The enhance pods are finished and the comparisons of the straight from the plans and the enhanced ones together. The pods will be interchangeable, so do not glue them if you want this option. Here you have the retracted version. The next posting will be on the deployed option.

This model is a great build. I just hope that this thread will help others build it as well. Jan's model is a great design, it is just me, that likes to build a bit of extra stuff into my builds.

Thanks for the comment Teg35. I am glad that you have enjoyed the build.
The next phase is the 1/72 scale APC. It barely fits into the cargo bay. It is almost finished and I added a few more details to the build. Here are a few photos of the APC.
The inside of the APC is strengthened with a series of internal bracing. I made a slight mistake in not folding the top of the side walls in, so as to make contact with the top cover. I made a slight angle cut to the bracing so as to allow for the bend.
There are a few small details added to the top side and by the door side. The doors themselves are also cut out of the plans and then laminated to card stock and then placed back into their respective positions. The doors now have a raised relief feature.

Here are a few photos update. A few more updates. Made some scratch build details for the aft section. The front turret is made from rolled thin strip around a paper stick. Sanded the top round and then placed the skin over it. The guns are made from pieces from a tooth pick.

I've got this sat in the pending pile, along with a steadily growing number 
of other paper kits. Have to say, if I can get mine to look half as good as yours does I'll be most happy.
One thing I do have a weakness for is large scale builds, so I've already played around with this kit and scaled it up to 1/12. I want to do a detailed interior but I think it's going to take some time to figure it all out. And where to put it once done!
Looking forward to seeing this and the dropship together, Silveroxide. Going to look outstanding!

A bit late for it now, mate, but the 1:24 APC scales down quite nicely to 1:75 (1:72 should be easy). I was trying to scale it to 1:50 years ago and bolloxed up the measurements (didn't figure it out until I built the main box). It is a LOT more detailed than the 1:148 you are using. I can snap some shots of my assembled one if you would like, with measurements.

Here are a few more updates on the APC. Painted the rear details and added the front top handles made from a bent paper clip wire. The tires are done my way instead of the traditional way using the little tabs. I rolled a strip of paper the size of the tire width around a round object, in this case a socket. Rolled the strip to the size of the tire and glued the tire thread to the outside. Rounded the edges with sandpaper, painted the white edge matte black and finally the inner and outside hubs to the tire..
