Cat's on the Layout

Now, Between Judy & I we have this so far:

RULES!!!!!!

First - I'm makin this a sticky just for the weekend, until everyone sees it. Then I'll let it float. :)

Second - Either add to "Cats on the layout" Or start your own RR song

Third - This "New song MUST be original, take any phrase from RRing & put it to a "well known" song's music.
Hint: Take someons most repeated saying from your RR club & figure out what song will support it.

Yes, i was thinking of Harry Chapin, may he rest in peace. I was a fan way back when and had the privilege of seeing him perform live.

There was another song from about 40 years ago called "The Cat Came Back", forget who sang it but was about a guy kept trying to get rid of his pesky cat, every verse ended with "But the cat came back. Thought he was a goner but the cat came back cuz he wouldn't stay awayyyyyy". Maybe he was a railroad modeller?

Abby did send a Z scale diesel to the floor once which is what first clued me in on why there were so many unexplained derailments, but only when i wasn't watching. Was testing the loco for stalling and would let it run overnight, often the next morning cars would all be lying beside the track. When she got the loco I was right there and realized what had been happening to the trains. Fortunately the coupler wasn't damaged, just the headlight smashed and the front nose of the body shell was cracked. Was tempted to crack her nose too but cats will be cats, and a Z scale locomotive is mouse size. Moved the layout into the garage after that.

RailRon, maybe the grey beer reefer looked too much like a grey mouse. Are cats totally colour blind or do they have some colour perception?
 
Just checked through the archives on the cat subject and saw that yes, this is a very common problem. Woodland Scenics tells me they will discuss cat-repelling scenery materials in their next new product development group meeting. While this subject is somewhat humourous, cats do varying degrees of damage that is not funny to the damagee; this is just one more of the many problems that plague/challenge railroaders.

This verse is inspired by some of the archived messages posted b4 my time (OK, just this one sickie then i'll shutup for a while):

Hey Mikey ----- I like it!!

This is great for getting those creative juices flowing. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a songwriter or poet. I have been known to write essays about things I feel strongly about or have personal experience about. But I'll leave songwriting to those who are more skilled than I.

Thanks. Just so you know how I did it, I searched the Net for "You're addicted to love" Lyrics.

Then I copy / Pasted them into a word processor & just changed line by line into the "new Words". An old trick my Mom taght me :) :)
If you pick the song first it makes it easier.

It's the timing that got me. Finding out he dies as i was re-writing one of his songs. :(
