Kind of a ridiculous post but I have been trying to learn how to flow surfaces along another. I made this wheel tonight. I think I have the basics down finally. I was thinking wheelbarrow at the time. The object is to get the wheel tread pattern to wrap itself around the tire's bald surface. :eek:ops:

very nice, that was just texture bump right?

Not a texture in the sense of a flat surface. It is actually a 3 Dimensional pattern. This pattern is made and then "Flowed along the Surface'. Don correctly, the pattern bumps end up in the perfect spot. if the model is flipped, you will see all the patterns are the same size, and there is no gap, like a real tire. Theorhetically, I could post this and it could be made. It would be a ridiculous amount of work, making the pattern and lamt it would work. This method is used on more complex truck models, though this pattern is a bit too complex for that. It is not a texture or texture bump, though. :)
