hello all, I have been browsing through the threads here trying to answer a question I have, without any luck, so I registered to ask some pros, I am starting a layout for my kids and myself, I just bought the first engine, it's a broadway limited N&W J 4-8-4, I heard great things about these, so I figured I would give it a shot, BUT, the only thing I don't like is that they don't smoke, my question is, can I put a smoke generator in this without much trouble?......thanks for reading.
a newb needs a pro answer.

Don't know about installing a smoke generator, but few engines are made to smoke anymore. Most "pros" avoid smoke like the plague as the oil residue ends up everywhere - track, scenery, locos, floor... It gets pretty messy.

Scott has you covered there, smoker lokeys are banned on our club layout for that reason, many train shows too, for that matter. Most BLI models are built with very little extra space anyway.
