1/26 scale model of the Stephenson Rocket.

A charity that supplies vets via the hospitals and clinics with model and craft kits, last year gave me several engine kits like this one.
I began putting this one together, my first together today.

I have one or two other models in this series put away and I think when I build my train rood they will make a nice display.

It look smore like a steam car than train engine in the last post.:)

Mine isnt prototypical. Not having yellowpaint on hand, I painted the parts red. I didn't paint the wheels yellow either, to much and to hard at my skill level but what the heck, this is a fun project to pass the cold weather this week while my car is in the shop.

Have any of you guys made these large scale kits?

How about a Big Boy model, I have seen those at the hobby shops.
 
The only similarity with the DeWitt Clinton is the smokestack. (And I think they're side by side in Dearborn). (Get the name right, or the New Yorkers will be after you.)
The remnants of the original Rocket in England don't look yellow to me -- more of a dark colour.

Gil: did you paint and weather that? It looks most convincing. It also has the lower angle cylinders that Rocket was given in later life.
