Did a little more work today...
Added the main wall and the railing for the balcony. Both will need to be tweaked a but I'm still happy with the results.
The main wall is a bit skewed but not enough to redo anything... I believe I'm going to attach the rest of the ceiling segments using rare earth magnets to hold them in place so they can be removed easily.
Next will be the Commander's office so I got some shots that I won't be able to get once the walls are up.
The finish line is in sight!

Hello all,
Sorry i haven't posted in a while... Been going through some major difficult life events. Had to make several drives out of state to collect possesions that have been stored by an ex friend for several years. It was in fact, most of my belongings. Could not afford a big truck or a moving pod so I drove a Mazda 6 (VERY small car) over 500 miles (9 hours round trip) and packed as much as possible. It took 5 trips, 2500 miles and over 50 hours in total but I have all of my belongings (which present all new problems like where to put it all) but it's OVER! It's done! I'm back and as soon as I heal I'm back to work on the study model. It's very close to finished and I haven't come this far to give up.

Sorry to hear you had troubles.
We tend to forget that behind every model/thread/build... there is a life that, sometimes, don't let us much time to spend with our hobby.
One of the big values of a place like this one - I think - is that you can share your troubles with friends and receive some word of symphaty from them.
Perhaps it doesn't resolve all the problems but it helps somewhat...

It is true, life and it's many mysterious ways, does tend to hide the modelling tools from you at times ....:meh:
I learnt that lesson in my Discovery build. The model spent more time under protective wraps, than being built on.
But, within that model, there are many memories, some good, others bad, and a lot that are just too damn painful!
But, the completed model now stands as testament that we can get through the bad times, pick our selves up again, move forward and achieve our goals, desires and dreams.
Take your time and get yourself back on your feet again.
We will all be here.!

Thank you all for the kind words and support... Life does happen but for many of us (perhaps even all of us) this hobby is what keeps us sane, which means that it's important and deserves better than just dropping off the map. I just needed to let everyone know I hadn't forgotten the support and interest that you have all shown. That is as important to me as the rest of the hobby.
That being said; my back is finally healed enough to sit in a chair for long periods but just when I can finally get back to work; low and behold something else comes along! My lady and I are house rabbit advocates with one pet rabbit. Our vet called to tell us they had taken in a bun who they found being sold at a garage sale! They thought of us first because we are very good owners and when we met the little guy, we couldn't turn them down.
We are trying to socialize him with our current rabbit but he's over ten years old and rules the roost, so my work area is now in the center of rabbit central! Dan, I can sympathize about the Discovery build as I've had to do the same thing! Trying to set up some space in my overcrowded, stuff encrusted basement study... but I just don't have anywhere to put anything! I walk by the model every day with deep seated building pangs but haven't been able to do a thing.
All I can say is; LIFE IS STRANGE sometimes... At least the new bunny is a sweetheart.
Meantime when I have a spare moment I'm looking over other builds and as always I'm totally blown away by the quality and creativity of the work. This is one of my favorite places to be.

I once saw one of those competition food shows where they made falling water out of chocolate with a river through it. Pretty cool.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ironically (or maybe not) both rabbits would eat cardstock carrots with almost as much zeal as real ones! The only real downside to a pet rabbit is the chewing! They chew woodwork and peel wallpaper off in sheets! They bite through any power cords that they can get their mandibles around! Their toys are all made of wood and cardboard (you never have to recycle a TP roll in our house!) to try to keep them from nibbling the house down!

HOLY CHROME! That's GORGEOUS! I'm honored indeed to be considered good enough to tackle this one.
That being said; If I can get me some blueprints (and maybe even if I can't) I'd take a crack at it! Love to do a partial interior with transparency windows! This is definately on the long list!

That's a hard model to get plans for as everything is copyrighted. Hard not impossible though.
