    Updates

Yet another mystery. . . OK, so here is where it get funky. So I have a Macintosh and a PC. All in all, I have 5 different browsers between the two machines. If I go to the main Gauge page (Zealot.com, I should see pictures for The Photo of the day, the contest winner, and the Gauge Emag...

    Updates

I like it so far Peter: I like what I see so far. I just noticed the smileys were fixed. How is it going on transferring the gallery? By the way, I love the blog area. It seems like a great place to keep a running record of what we've been doing. I'm starting to move my layout threads...

    Lost in the caulking jungle

If you are working with the extruded foam with a film on top of it, then the No More Nails and the stuff that I used should come up without a problem; it will just pull away the film. Don't ask how I know that :)

Kudos to Peter (not being sarcastic)

I was a little bummed yesterday when I found out that The Gauge was down for upgrades. A day without logging on to see all my buddies is just not fun. When it did come back up, we had a new site, with a new look, and new features. I have worked in the IT industry for all of my life, and I...

    Blogs???

Error Message trying to get into blogs So, I poked my head into the blogging area, tried to see Chessie's post and when I clicked on it, I got this error meaasge: Unable to add cookies, header already sent. File: /home/zealot/public_html/blogs/blog_global.php Line: 75 I'm sure it is not high...

    Blogs???

I like the idea. A few of us have a thread to detail the construction of our railroads (Nazgul's many pages of information as an example). A blog would be a much better spot to keep that, in my opinion. Peter, you're doing a great job, in case no one has mentioned it to you.

The Home of Norfolk and Western’s Merrimac Subdivision

I had a bunch of pictures to post, but. . . Since the upgrade and with the AWOL Gallery, I can't upload them yet. Maybe sometime. Gary, glad you like it. In a less than 95 sq. ft. room, the shelf style was the only way to go. Wayne, I thought about cutting down the diverging sides, but I...

    Trouble Logging In

Torp: I have to actually be "in the Gauge forum" in order to login. Something about being at the front door of the server doesn't sit well with logging in.

    Avatar?

Found a quick fix solution to avitar issue When I went into the USER CP, I checked on my avitar and it WAS displayed there, but it wasn't showing up on any posts. So here is what I did: 1) Right mouse click on avitar picture, and select "Save Target As...". I saved my to the desktop. This...

    What a MESS

Peter, hang in there! Peter, I'm an IT guy, and I KNOW what it takes to do a major upgrade. You are not going to please everone with what/how you did it, but that is life. You've done a great job in getting basic working functionality back up in a short amount of time (I know what down time...

    Lost in the caulking jungle

I went back and found my old thread. Here is what I have been using: I went to Lowe's and got the tube of NailPower Foam Board Adhesive to glue the foam to the plyboard. That stuff rocks! Just give it time to dry correctly. It is a solid as a rock now. I also am using the DAP Kwik Seal Tub...

    Lost in the caulking jungle

I can't remember which DAP I am using, but, make sure it is latex, and the cheaper the better. I use two types, white for putting stuff down, and clear for underneath my track. Hope this helps.

The Home of Norfolk and Western’s Merrimac Subdivision

Layout Update 04/24/2007 It has been a while, but I've been making slow but steady progress, for the most part. This past weekend, I went to my favorite hobby shop to pick up more turnouts and track. I also completed the last piece of benchwork, in addition to the honey-do list, yard work...

    Foam, Cork, & Track

Riverotter, If you are using the extruded foam (pink or blue stuff) as a base, then don't forget to take off the plastic film before trying to use anything as an adhesive. Layout number 2 was done that way, and nothing would stick to the film for long.

Layout (room) tour...with lots of photos

Wayne, that is awesome!!!! Thanks for sharing. I do have a question, what did you use for the fascia? It looks like a cardboard one.

    Outstanding work

Don, I think the thanks should go out to the mod who are killing this stuff as soon as we find it. You guys are really on the ball! Family discussion boards should be **** free; no telling what "little eyes" may be looking around. A big thanks to the Mods!

The Home of Norfolk and Western’s Merrimac Subdivision

And I forgot I also picked up two animated neon signs from Miller Engineering to add to the layout. They are historic signs from my hometown of Roanoke, Va. I am not sure what I am going to place them on, but, they are getting a spot on the layout. The H & C Coffee Sign The Dr. Pepper...
