Same here. I'll be going DCC and I'll want to get the views of other modelers. Any Digitrax Super Empire Builder users out there?

    What do you listen to.

I try to get my Windows Media Player radio tuner homed in on jazz/light jazz, but it has a way of dropping out after awhile. I like to listen to my jazz favorites (Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, The Crusaders, the Adderly brothers, Rippingtons, etc.), new age stuff, and classical. Bach, Mozart...

    Canal Streetcar-New Orleans

Unfortunately, I only remember the green paint jobs. Ron, is the red and cream color original to the NOPSI cars? Oh, my favorite bus line in NOLA? Hmmmmm....Magazine Steet? Tulane Avenue (and Nick's Big Train Bar!)? I think that my favorite bus route has always been Elysian Fields Ave. Nice ride...

    National RR Postcard Museum Update

Hello, Crew! For those interested, I just added a page to the Museum on the Chicago freight tunnel system. Right now I have three cards posted, but this has got to be the most unique city trolley system ever built. Russ :) :) :)

The Hudson Electric herald that goes under my signature isn't showing up. How do I correct this? Thanks! Russ

    somebody's masterpiece or graffiti

There's more to tagging railroad cars than just tagging them. Taggers from one side of the country can recognize another tagger's work and they 'send' messages and designs to each other via moble canvases....railroad cars. One tagger in Chicago may recognize work from another tagger living...

    Caboose Project Thoughts

Hey, Chris! Well, let's see. I have a whole bunch of Beebe & Clegg books, my favorites being 'Mixed Train Daily' and 'Twentieth Century'. I have almost all of the series 'Narrow Gauge Pictorial', a couple on the East Broad Top narrow gauge RR, Hilton's 'American Narrow Gauge Railroads'...

    Caboose Project Thoughts

Chris.. Traction Classics is a 3 volume set...this is volume 3. I pick up most of my books on eBay and have a pretty good sized RR library with a growing traction section. Wm. Middleton also wrote books on the history of Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal in NYC. He was really a great RR...

    Caboose Project Thoughts

I have two that I'm checking out right now. One is the CERA book 'Not Only Passengers' and Wm. Middleton's 'Traction Classics/Interurban Freight'. Great books for reference. The cigar was a second quality off-brand, but still a good smoke. My real favorites are Fuente Churchills or Hoyo De...

    Caboose Project Thoughts

Hey, Fred! Well, pal, it's like this, see. I have a bunch of projects of all kinds going on in this ol' house and right now I'm building my model railroad room. I usually need to get some kind of stuff from Home Depot every Saturday morning just before working on the project at hand...

    Caboose Project Thoughts

Hello, Crew! One of my rituals is to sit in my car in the Home Depot parking lot on a Saturday morning, smoke a cigar, drink a BEEEEEG coffee, listen to the radio, and thumb through a RR photo book. As Chris (Interurban) would also point out, electric railroads had interesting cabooses. Many...

Southern Guy Bummed out in the North

Hey, Ken... Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. If you can't locate anyone around Cleveland to hang with, look up a hooby shop in the hobby shop directories in the back of the model railroad magazines and stop in! That may help chase the blues. Russ

    Traction Question!

Thanks for the info, guys! I have the traction books from Carstens and I located the Scale Models Traction & Trolley Quaterly website. Looks like subscription time here! I'll have to keep my eyes open for the others...I think I've seen back issues on eBay....I'll have to check. Thanks again!

    Lake Minnetonka Interurban

Hey, Jim... Very sharp photos! Note that the marker light bracket holders are evident in the postcard, but the markers are mounted in your photo! Very cool looking...the 'streamlined' and the 'old time' together! :thumb: Russ

    Traction Question!

Hey Chris, Jet, & Crew! Any suggestions on traction magazines that I should consider subscribing to? I think that there's a few out there, I just don't know what they're like. Thanks! Russ
