    Odd Request

It's unreal how hard it is to find info on 1850-1890 loco's. I'm talking specifically about southern Romanian region of Wallachia. Very strange, I know.......but when is the last time anyone seen a locomotive from that area & era? I'm just curious is all. I've spent longer than I want to admit...

Thanks for the 411. Just a simple 63"X45" oval, no bells not even a whistle. I'll try those suggestions in the morning, right now I need him to do his homework before bed. All I'm hearing right now is......."No daddy, I'll do it in the morning.....here, let me turn the train on 40%!" AHHHH The...

First off please excuse the poor quality, I must have taken 40 pics and these are the "cough" best "cough" out of the bunch. Good grief. To 60103-- It is on a flat surface and that was one of the first things I thought of, but thanks for being thoughtful:thumb::thumb:

    Upgrading couplers

Uh, yea, about that. There are no hobby shops here in Fairbanks, Alaska that really support this hobby. There are like 2 that sell some things, but with a 300%-400% mark-up. It's waay cheaper for me to mail order or buy online even with shipping.

I have an under-the-tree-only HO set - Bachmann McKinley Explorer. If you haven't guessed, the cars do not stay coupled very well and it's frustrating to step away for 3 minutes only to come back and find the Loco pushing a few cars. What are my options and where can I purchase upgrades?

    Father & Son's first layout

Well, here it goes. I have decided (with persuasion from the wife) to start a layout with my son. A little background about him & I so you may better understand the road ahead. My son-10 has AD/HD and is borderline Autistic, but very high function with a 92 IQ, strangely enough he's no different...

So, what does your wife think?

I'm happy to say my wife loves and encourages it. I really enjoy the happiness I see in her eyes when my son & I do things together.

    Greatings from Alaska!

Hello, just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Ty aka-shelbys_dad. I have been in the hobby off & on since my father was an engineer for Conrail back in the 70's and had a layout of the Enola Yard in our basement. I've done 2 N scale layouts while in College and now that I have children of...
