Can you mix track from different manufactures, such Atlas with Walthers or Model power? Are they all about the same as far as quality I have read that some people have had trouble with Atlas switches.
Well table is 5x9 I want to use as much of space as i can track will be 2' from edge. all industries and buildings will be on inside of oval . spacing between track is 2 1/2/ " in curve center to center. The sidings will run off inside oval. As you can see i am making this up as i go so...
well i tried to bend the roadbed and it does not want to lay flat. If i bend the ends it pops up in the center?????? what am i doing wrong do i need to cut the center of the curve?
Bought first pieces of flex track yesterday and cork roadbed. Does the moveable rail go on the inside or outside? What is best way to put roadbed down? Any tricks on puttting spikes through ties into plywood without bending track causing dip in track?

WEll the benchwork is done "it took on a life of it's own". Need to put plywood top on then foam what is best way to attatch track to foam? Is foam the right thing to use? Have not found homasote yet. Also how do you solder track without melting ties? Thanks
Finally ready to build, have trackplan in head and on paper. going to use both island for 5x9 and around the wall . Any ideas on bracing for the around the wall part of it? Are metal brackets ok to use layout will be 18 to 20 in. wide. Thanks

Having trouble attaching paint drawing. So i will try to describe it . Standing at the entrance the room is 11 ft long along the right wall is a door way and a closet. it is 7 ft wide, at the half way point it goes to the left 2 ft making it 9 ft wide.
This is rough room size for my HO layout. Any ideas? Thought about switch yard on side wall with mainline down center of room? Want tostart small but be able to expand without to much trouble.

Ok frustration over for now . What is recomended radius on N scale curves? thinking of a dogbone layout 3 ft on each end and 2 ft or 18 inches in middle or could be 4 ft ends with 2 ft middle. any suggestions?
