Rolling right along...
Here is the step by step construction process showing how the first of the 16 wheels went together.
First I attached glue tabs to each of the tire treads.
Next, I rolled them into shape with a bamboo stick and glued to two ends together.

Pile 'O Parts
I finally got all the parts cut out for the 16 road wheels. Most had to be cut out with a pair of scissors because I do not have the correct size hole punch and they are much too small for my circle cutter. Believe me it doesn't look like much but it took many hours working off...
Since my HP all in one has been giving me nothing but trouble lately.:curse: I've been using our color laser printer at work. It's a Lanier LP138c. I'd much rather use a good old inkjet printer because I'm not real happy with the dot pattern that it prints on the sheet and also the toner tends...
Quick update
First of all, Thank you everyone for your kind words of support.
I don't have too much to say at this time other than I've been cutting out the parts for the road wheels for a while now. I decided to add additional details to the wheels so I am building each one as two separate...
Truly Awesome!
The only way I could ever come close to making something this nice would be to shrink myself down to only a few inches and work 1:1:mrgreen:
Thanks for the positive words of encouragement! I really need them now since I'm getting to the part of the build that seems to take forever!!!Wheels and tracks,... wheels and tracks,.... wheels and tracks,.....more and more wheels and tracks........... lots and lots of repetitive cutting - I...
Little Progress
Here are the little bumper stops that go on the side of the hull.
Here are the Bogies and some other little parts:
That's it for now. I have to finish up a few more bogies then time to start the road wheels.
Beginning the Hull Construction
The next photos show the beginning of the hull construction.
My first attempt was not very sucessful wall1 The hull was all twisted and out of square :curse::curse::curse: So I had to take another approach! Rather than build the hull from one piece (as printed...
I finally got around to beginning my build for the Free Model #3 contest. I chose ICM's Panzer IV Ausf D. -icm--'sƒy[ƒp[ƒ‚ƒfƒ‹ It's a nice little 1:50 scale model that has some very nice details that are usually found on larger size models. (see Charliec's review of this kit here...
So I guess you've made up your mind... I would probably do the same thing - even though no one else can see them at least you will know that they are there.
Besides, If you don't put them on now you probably would want to go back later and do it anyways.
Jules,
Thank you for your kind words. I look forward to building your other designs in the future - especially the Merkava - It looks awesome.
Your a very talented designer keep up the great work!
-Kevin
This is it! I promise! I just could not let it go. I had to add the tow ropes (embroidery floss) and rearview mirrors! I also added a little slack to the tracks. I don't know if you can tell from these photos but I think they look much better than they did. There is nothing more I can think of -...
I finished up the scorpion with a few additional details.
I added a 2nd antennia, a sighting device, and grenade launchers to the turret, two tow hooks to the front, tools on both sides, and two crew members.
That's it for this one.
Thank you everyone for the positive feedback
Jaffro,
To answer your question on the extra details... I guess the biggest and most obvious one would be the whip antenna and cable spool assembly that I attached to the side of the turret. I saw this in many of the photos that I looked...
Here are a few pictures of my latest little project that I'd like to share with everyone here. It just so happens that I found this neat little model here right under my nose on the Zealot Download page! A great big thank you goes out to Julius for being generous enough to share this with...
