    Wilhelmshaven 1:200 scale USS Constitution

Another update.... I started work on the starboard quarterdeck hammock nettings and was able to complete them tonight. Just as with the forecastle hammock nettings, first I made a bunch of hammock netting irons using small nicron wire. They are all formed in a "U" shape, with as flat a...

    Wilhelmshaven 1:200 scale USS Constitution

Hi, Gang!:) I was able to do a little bit more this weekend, adding the tie downs for the Captain's boat stowed on the main hatch and putting in the final deck fittings for the mizzen deck area, including the mizzen fife rails. Here's what the Captain's boat now looks like with the tie...

MS Solingen - an old kit a little bit pimped!

Welcome, Wilfried!:) I have been enjoying Wilfried's build thread on the Kartonbau forum of this beautiful merchant ship. What is striking about his build is how he is enhancing the basic kit, an old standard from Wilhelmshavener Modell, with many details making this a true museum quality...

    USS Spruance 1/200th

Wotcher, bazzer! Bit by bit, she's coming together rather fabulously! I think that double shaft object on the transom is an antennae array, but I don't know what type or why it is so large. Davit came out very well, as did all those little bits you added since the last post. Keep at it...

    Wilhelmshaven 1:200 scale USS Constitution

Hi, Larry! It depends on how far back you are going into the thread. When the group changed servers a while back the photos I had posted in the thread were apparently based on the database of the old server so the links were lost when the thread was reposted under the new server. I do have...

Thanks so much, guys!:) I only wish I had an update to post this week, but work has been a bit demanding lately. @Jasco. Yep, it's actually two ply laminated #67 pound card, works out just about right for the thickness I was looking for. I have to tell you punching the holes for the...

    USS Pennsylvania

Don't give up; you'll work it out somehow.... I often use a glue stick for laminating parts, although probably not over such a wide area as you did here with the deck, but pretty close. I usually put the newly laminated part under the cutting mat on the work table until it cures very well...
