    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

Thanks guys! Step by step, in unknown order, but sure is fun solving the 'puzzle'. I have a question, what are some methods to coloring paper models? I know if you can get a kit in color and print in color, that works. Thanks, Scott Happy cutting!

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

Sorry about the big pictures above, still trying to learn the ins and outs of documenting a build on this forum. I am also working from my tablet, just found out it had a camera! dr_tetrode ;-)

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

Then the cockpit itself. Slowly figuring out what goes where, but am confused. The outer shell makes sense, but, I am not sure about parts 6 and 7. Looks like 6 belongs in front of the pilot, but, on the floor? When rotated, like the drawing, it looks like a tall foot rest? To be installed...

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

After reading Sudsy's Vulture build, I figured the interior was the place to start, so I started with some seat detail, while they were flat, I added the upholstery.

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

Hi, I am starting on the Valkyrie, from Armourman's collection, thank you! I am just starting in the paper realm so this will be for my benifit of recording the process, asking questions when stuck and learning the process of building a complex(?) model. I like the look of the Valkyrie, so...

    Sudsy's (Patoroch) Vulture build

I have another question. Do you laminate full sheets first, and then cut or do you laminate pieces? Scott ;-)

    Sudsy's (Patoroch) Vulture build

Nice build and finsh! Now where can I go to the 'Sudsy school of Laminating"? How do you do the lamination to create the thickness? Which glues? What methods, would love to know more. If you picked up the techniques form another post, what would that be? I still think a picture tutorial...

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

Thanks for the inputs! I have been using 3 in 1 oil, all along. I have had the printer in the same environment, for 2 years, so it takes a while to build up the FOD... I agree with you on cover, next big project is relocating and building a full cover. Garage gets cold, in winter and the...

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

Well.... I tried a larger project, 2oz. paint jar holder, that ran for 13 hrs, overnight. Checked just before bed, all was well. This is what I found in the morning..... First picture is the screen, note run time.... Second is the result, uggh! Third is what caused the result, the...

    3D Printing Basics

Ponytail2, Sounds like fun, see my trials and tribulations in the General section. I just had some of that kind of 'fun' with my printer, but, when sorted out, it is working well! Happy Printing! Scott ;-)

    3D Printing Basics

Lee, Do you have 3d models of the parts you would like to print? That would be the first step in being able to print those things. Once you get those, you can then feed them into the workstream of slicing, g-code generation, and printing. Scott ;-)

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

XYZ calibration tribulations, and success! OK, part of moving the printer or changing anything is, run the Self Test, which passed, and the running the XYZ calibration which verifies that the frame is square with the bed and the height of the nozzle is close. Ran these and passed. X axis...

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

New I am assuming, that the above post is true, so this will be the post with pictures from the 1 Feb. post. Above is the old head bed connection, showing the orange filament used to support the wires during movement. Y axis roller that had to be disassembled to remove head bed. Above is...

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

Thank you! So, as a newbie to the forum, the preference is to include the actual photo file in the post, via the method above and http://www.zealot.com/threads/newbie-question-about-posts.172904/#post-950806? Limit is 6 per post. After upload the photos can be deleted or moved locally and...

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

Hi, OK, first lesson learned, when the spool falls, I need to create and always use a physical locking mechanism to hold my spool on the supports. So far, I have used only PLA filament, and have been happy, it is corn starch based, so it is not water proof. Second lesson learned, about a year...

My Trials and Tribulations and Fun!

Hi, This is my way of sharing the 'fun' with my printer. A little history, I spent months trying to decide on which one? Cost only, capability only, or combination. Then a magazine I read, had about 30 of them lined up and compared. The number 1 was the Prusa i3 mk2. In kit form, it was...
