    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

Some more sub-assemblies for the wings. Hard points being assembled. I discovered that if I scored and then used a plastic card, I could 'break' the folds very well. Still having fun, hope you are too! Scott ;-)

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

I discovered, by using a protractor, that the angle on the wings is simply 45 degrees. I used the squares on the cutting mat to make sure that when I glued both of the outer wing pieces together that it was at a 45 degree angle, corner to corner on the cutting mat squares. Gluing 2 layers...

    INTRODUCTION POST

Andy, Welcome, this is the place to have fun! I have been working on a Valkyrie for about a year now, off and on, and I find it fun and relaxing. My build is here: https://www.zealot.com/threads/dr-tetrodes-valkyrie-build.180705/ Enjoy, and let me know what you think. Check out Armorman's...

Ok, now the horizontal stabilizer and tail / fins vertical / angled pieces..... I like how you cut out the panels and glue them on and get the grooves in the final piece. Cutting out the parts and assembly of the horizontal stabilizer. Now the upper tail fins, cut and assemble. I use...

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

On the second spar, I shot the score and fold process, a little closer so you can see. To break the small flap, I used flat edged tweezers to fold the flap. So, the spars are done, what next? Back to puzzling through the drawing and figuring out how to put this together. Having fun...

Now moving on to the tail spars and wing supports. Cutting doubled cardstock. Score and fold, I used the plastic box top for a break, to fold the straight lines. When dry fitting, the spar felt a little 'squishy' so I decided to add an 'anti-crush' device, paper bracing. ;-) I took a...

Finishing the landing pads. Added the vertical pieces, I will wait until model is almost done to attach to the model, may have to do some leveling.

    Sudsy builds a Tauros (Patoroch)

Wow, nice intricate work. Coming together well! Another technique you could use for the Grenades is to round the end of the toothpick, before cutting to length. Then you have a rounded end and a square end. Use an emery board, by twisting the toothpick in your fingers as you slide it back...

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

A little work done tonight. Cut out and built 4 landing pads or the landing gear. First a little bit of sub assembly dry fitting. I kind of want to know where I am. OK, on to the cutting. Inside cuts first. Now we cut and glue the pads together. Some and total of the work...

I am sorry to say, yes, most photos were lost with the site change. I am slowly going back and finding them, I now have a list of file names, so I can maybe put them back. Admins, question, how do I attach photos in older posts that lost them? I think I have them with the same names as...

OK, sorry I have been not building or able to spend the time to enjoy this. Real Life, has struck. Now with the the quarantine going on, I have a little time to put towards a little fun... Continuing the build. Small but useful, the engine mounting frames. They needed to be cut a little...

    Dr Tetrode's Valkyrie build.

Agree on the gaps, that comes from 2 layers of frame added to the bottom layer and then bent / folded, with only the bottom layer actually bending.. If this was colored model, I would fill them in and sand smooth. Ejection, hmmmm... does that happen in Warhammer? This aircraft ha 2 jet...

Thanks, now further adventures in canopy. Adding the frames to the canopy. This is where I should have used a clear glue, but, chose the contact cement for its quick grab. I don't have to hold it and get my finger prints all over! Gluing sides to roof. Used contact cement, and...

Continued..... Now is the time for the cockpit to go in. Needed to make a firewall, in the front to hide the hole, so that was glued in, then cockpit was glued in. I am surprised at how well this is going together! Flat paper to 3d model...... Having fun, Scott ;-)
