Anyone built the MDC HOn3 2-8-0?

Hi Glen they should be press fit, however in my kit I have got olso the metal counterweights (I hope this is the real word for them) and those small nuts are sitting much more better on those metal parts as on the plastic one. The plastic is I think delrin so there is no glue what will stick...

    Incline Railway

There is a similar construction in former Eastern Germany, where there is just a platform (like an elevator) and normal coaches are lifted up to the next level. Similar construction is preserved as a museum railroad in Romania's loggin line in Covasna were the logging cars are moved between...

    DC Circuit Problem

Hi CIDCHASE you were right with the capacitor, exactly this is what I would add to the LED circuit. I also agree with your second question (probably we are all slow now in the hot :) summer ), I do not know what are those elements in series with the resistor (Lamps?). They cannot be...

    DC Circuit Problem

You are right, if you just add the cap. Of course you need to check with your VOM the voltage on the cap. It may never exceed the maximum voltage on the flasher. In such cases your VOM will give you more real reading as without the cap and you can easily adjust the resistor for proper...

    Trains from Europe and Asia

;) Hi marnlq welcome on the gauge. Vietnam is not that far from your country ;) , so maybe they purchased the cars in China or produced under licence in Vietnam.

    DC Circuit Problem

Hi Mickey put a big capacitor to the power input. Such flasher circuits use to draw lot of current when the LED is on, so the voltage from the resitor will drop below 3 V. You can avoid this by a big (2000-5000uF capacitor). Or as already told you need a separate stabiliser.

    The FERKEL LINES RR

Hi I built my latest "equipment" upon the setup I found in the museum in Nevada earlier this year. The equipment is (I guess) some kind of ore mill. In the museum it was not complete so I have no idea how did it work. On my layout I found an intermediate solution, the steam engine is under...

Creating A Real Stem Engine Model

Our latest steamer This is the promised picture of the Class 52 on our scale 1 layout. It is a real steam (ASTER kit). After some problems the engine runs quite well.

Creating A Real Stem Engine Model

Yesterday we also spent about 3 hours with the initial running experience with the latest real steam engine of my friend. It is the ASTER's German class 52 built from kit and modified for the Austrian railways. The model is in scale 1 and after about 1 hour heating finaly the machine started to...

    Exotic railroads

We are planning a small expedition (max. 20 people) to Cambodia from Nov.28 till Dec.2nd, 2004. In the program are rides with available steam locomotives (exclusively for the group) and additional sightseeing and a 6 hours riverboat trip. As optional we offer additional railway...

Creating A Real Stem Engine Model

Not only that, you need also lot of special materials and the skills to work with them (stainless steel etc.) is not that easy, and finally when your locomotive is ready (we have some in our 1 scale club) it is an absolute challenge to use them, as the reaction of the real steam is completely...
