    Haruhi build

Nezard, are you talking about Pepakura viewer or designer? I have viewer only(perhaps an older version), and I know how to make the lines thinner with that, but not more transparent. If I could get rid of the lines, that would eliminate my major gripe with Pepakura designed models.

    Haruhi build

Haruhi sheet 1 So far, so good, amigos. I built page one first, which I thought would be the most difficult part of the build - sink or swim kid! The face came out pretty nice I think. I cut off the glue tabs and used joining strips glued to the back for a smoother look. To assemble the...

    Haruhi build

Nezard, sheet 1 all built - photos and build report coming tomorrow (Monday). Plastic bonzai, thanks for the photo of your Haruhi - it came out very nice I think, and thanks to your heads up, I'll be taking extra care as I build her "nether regions". Regards, Don

    Haruhi build

After checking out Mark_1984's Aru build thread, I was inspired to try to build one of these little anime girls myself. In another thread, Nezard provided a link http://mizuirogakuen.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ to a newly designed anime girl named Haruhi, so I figured I'd give her a shot. The free...

    Aru Build thread

We're watching, Mark, never fear. From my experience, figure models are among the toughest to build well, and you've picked a pretty complex one to start with. It's coming along nicely, though, and I'm enjoying watching your progress. Keep up the good work. Regards, Don

    European Stag Beetle... 1/1 scale

Truly outstanding! The base really adds to the piece. So realistic it looks like it's ready to walk off onto the table. Kudos Regards, Don

Anyone know any great anime gal models?

That's the version I have - the not for retail kit. It may well be the only version. I believe it was packaged with some of the computer games. It's really an excellent kit. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. Regards, Don

Anyone know any great anime gal models?

Paul, my experience with papermodelworld was very good. The elf was well packaged and was shipped out right away. I've sent several items to the UK through eBay, and have been surprised to find that it didn't cost too much more than it would have to send the same item domestically. I'm betting...

Anyone know any great anime gal models?

I have both of these models. The Lineage II Female Elf and the Pristontale Archer are both published kits. I don't believe they are available as a download. The archer comes in a 13"x15"x1" box. The elf comes as a 5"x7"x 0.5" booklike affair with accordian like sheets that are to be separated...

    Gundam

Rob, There are 3 very nice free downloadable 'mechs at http://my.dreamwiz.com/papermech a Mad cat, a Daishi, and a Thor (Summoner). There were also a bunch of free downloadable 'mechs at the Mechwarrior forum. They have been discontinued due to piracy, but from poking around in there, I believe...

    Pepakura viewer printing question

Greetings all! I have just finished building a Wild Cat 'mech (photos and thread coming shortly), and I was thinking of building an appropriately scaled Elemental (armor suited infantry) to go with him. I have a .pdo file for an Elemental, but it would be way too big at 100%. I'd like to...

    Opinions needed

My vote is for the 632 image also. Perhaps the grey/white surface could be tinted blue-green to better suggest a water surface.

    Large Emperor Moth 1/1 scale

Wow! That is really impressive Pete. An impressive model, and the groundwork really sets it off well. Is that a wooden fine art base or an equally well made paper relica? Regards, Don

Panzer II build - 3rd installment

Framing and Skinning the Turret After cutting out the turret frame pieces, I measured them carefully against the skin to make sure everything would fit properly (I learned my lesson from the hull). Sure enough, a small amount of trimming was required on the frame top part 18. The rest of the...

    Surprise in the mail

Many thanks for your thoughts, Darwin. I've only built one Maly kit - the Putilow Garford armored car from 1980 - and although the paper was absolutely terrible, the kit was very well done with absolutely no fit problems at all. It spoiled me in one way, and frustrated me in another. I...

    Surprise in the mail

Thanks once again for your helpful information Charlie. I'll check out the narod site. I found several nice color photos of a well-preserved T-38 sitting in an armor museum, as well as several different views of the finished Maly kit built by someone with a lot of talent. It sounds from your...

    Surprise in the mail

I just received a couple of paper models from one of our American suppliers, and when I opened the package I got a nice surprise. Besides the two kits I had ordered, there was also a Maly T-38 light tank in there. Christmas in March! I did a little internet surfing to get some photos and info on...

Modelcard Panzer II Build, 2nd installment

The defects really aren't visible in the photos. It's an older camcorder and the pixel density isn't up to today's standard. I wanted to point them out anyway, since the purpose of this ongoing article is to highlight the goofs as well as the successes - maybe it'll prevent somone else from...

Modelcard Panzer II Build, 2nd installment

Skinning the Hull Frame First, I cut out, formed, and glued the lower skin (tub) part 9. The frame drops into it beautifully! The frame length (after the earlier 1/16" alteration) was perfect. The width was a tiny bit narrow, but I fixed that by laminating a couple of layers of...
