    Another Betty

Congratulations, well deserved prize! Looks like the first finished Betty ever! I can see some minor differences in the hydraulic system, but who cares, this is great work and we need more photos. I like it! ;)

    Betty 1/144 build up & 1/700 experimental

Wow, this is crazy! :D Well, it looks that you are the first oficial builder of the final version, I can only wish you a good luck! :D Anyway, just for the record, try to reinforce as much of the central parts as you can, you will have to calculate all the weight of the tail, wings, etc. Also, I...

    Interstellar movie robots (spoiler alert)

Well, I've been in cinema with my girl few days ago, spending 3 hours there with jaw dropped on the ground, I can only highly recommend this movie to all sci-fi fans, great atmosphere, music, (Hans Zimmer) and, most important for all of us, nice ships design. And, there was a robot. No, two...

Well, yes, if you want to make a "projection" of the texture from single rectangle to the model, it will continue on the whole thing. I had to smooth curved surfaces a bit of course. Not a problem, I can send you a model ASAP. ;)

    Derelict (Alien)

What I'm talking about is standard SU feature, I've created group from each part of the model for easier manipulation with them, you can work with each group separately. But I had to "destroy" this groups because when I tried to texture the model, each group takes unique pattern and they don't...

    Derelict (Alien)

Wow, it's nice and precise work you've done there! What rendering tool did u use? My machine is always going to meltdown with Maxwell plugin.. :D I was thinking about the problem in simillar way, but there are so many angles and curved parts to fix that it is almost impossible to keep textures...

    Derelict (Alien)

Well, this is just a test, I'm happy that I can apply continual texture in SketchUp with "projection trick", but there are some warped areas anyway, Photoshop will be needed after unfolding to add some details, of course. It is very complicated shape to texture it in one piece, I've tried to...

Intersections between groups should be enough: It looks like the movie prop wasn't even detailed and painted from this angle:

Revell-Fan: Thanks, that blog is my main source for this project, there are lots of shots from the "movie-seen" angle, but no shots from the other side, so I improvised from other models here. Well, yes, I'm using higher number, as well as lower ones, that pictures are not actual, they were made...
