i have a gondola with a junk load on my layout now,,, going to get a few more and have a scrap train , have it unload at a recycling center.

i would think that 2 , 2 bay cars would cost more to make/buy/ upkeep then 1 4 bay car?.......... if you have 2 two bay cars you have to buy and maintain twice as many wheels/trucks, and couplers. and twice as many "end sides" meaning that much more steel is needed. the 4 bay you still only...

what is the reason for the different hopper sizes? 2,3 and 4 bay hoppers? is it just that the cars got bigger when the trains/power got bigger? why would they use a 2 bay hopper when a 4 bay can hold twice as much? and are there anything besides grain carried in them?

8:30 pm,,, i just walked in the door. surgery lasted an hour, everything went good, had a small leak in my lung after they closed my lung up so i had to stay there a few hours longer then planned. leak healed its self in that time tho. pain not to bad, but im loopy right now anyway....lol

well im up and around, cant stay long, got to get ready and be out the door by 6:00am to drive to iowa city to be checked in for surgery by 8am. see ya when im back home.
