    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

I didn't really want all the skylights in my building, but I couldn't bring myself to toss them all either. I decided to settle for skylights over the section which will be above the track and on the side of the building away from view.

    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

After I glued both sides of each kit together, I cut the peak off of one end and added one of the doors to each end. With a piece of Evergreen Scale Models #4526 piece of styrene, I cut a section to match the end of the original model--but without the doors. I then used the leftover piece of...

    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

A guy has to start somewhere...so I did. I bought some of these car repair shop (Bachmann) kits for cheap. Now, I'm trying to come up with a use for them.

Kitbasher's Diary: Bachman Rural Freight Statoion (N Scale)

Great thread, Charlie. It is really amazing to see what a creative mind can come up with when it comes to simple kits. I have only begun to make feeble attempts in the way of kitbashing. I somehow came by the same kit with which you started, but mine was already built by the previous owner...

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

Here is one of the first trains to be experimented with on the hump. It doesn't work as well as we would like, but it sure looks nice!

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

This is going to be the site of Hinkle, Oregon. Hinkle is a large sorting yard on the Union Pacific which utilizes a hump yard. The hump yard may be a little difficult to model because it requires so much room, but we decided that even if it were to be on a reduced scale we had to do...

This is going to be a large grain elevator located just to the west of the Umatilla River and Pendleton. This was pieced together using a Micro Engineering building and a Walther's paper mill building.

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

This is mainly Union Pacific country, but the Burlington Northern does maintain a small depot and switches some industries in Pendleton.

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

I decided to begin another thread about the Canyon Mtn N-gineers' Layout. Other threads (see below) have talked about certain aspects of the layout, but I think it will be better to have all the updates and pictures in one thread. I also have a website, but it is too difficult to navigate the...

    Northwest Modeling Mecca??

There have been a few mishaps, but most of the "bugs" were worked out before the display was installed in the restaurant. Once the train has made a few cycles of the layout without problems, it is be pretty safe to assume that it will make it through the day without problems. On at least...

    Northwest Modeling Mecca??

So far the Dairy Queen is the first business to have a layout. There may not be any others that will be interested, but time will tell. It is currently the reponsibility of the business establishment to maintain the railroad and take care of any problems. This railroad is the property of the...

Here is the display as it appears today. Unfortunately, the glare of the plexiglass makes it difficiult to see the layout details.
