    UHU02 X Wing

The A version was used on original X-wing models from Episode 4, the B version is from the large (roughly double sized) X-wing that was build for Ep. 6 (or 5?).

Is there another unfolding software than Pepakura Designer? Free?

It's no secret, take a look at http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.49 . I've been using nightly builds for some time. Some things that I particularly like: -it's way faster - the rendering has been rewritten, that's the main reason why 0.49 took so much time to develop...

Is there another unfolding software than Pepakura Designer? Free?

That's quite ok! It's the last official version, it'll take some (hopefully not long) time until 0.49 is out.

    Launch when ready!

Well, I hang around a lot of scifi stuff, don't I? :D I can share my refs if you'd like (most pics will be probably the same, but you never know), I just won't have access to them until weekend. I have the Revell model too, but it isn't that accurate (it's a nice model for its age though)...

Is there another unfolding software than Pepakura Designer? Free?

Rogerio: good for you :) I expect no intelligence from an unfolder - I design my models with a way of unfolding of individual parts already in my mind, so for me, it's really just an unfolder - I mark the faces that form an individual part, separate them from the rest, mark edges, unfold. I...

Is there another unfolding software than Pepakura Designer? Free?

The most recent version should be on github. I can try it when I come back home and let you know. I'm sure it's an export plugin and isn't included in the most recent Blender version; it worked when I tried it last time. Unwrapping and unfolding aren't quite the same thing. The unfolder by...

    Launch when ready!

You're doing a great job. Too bad about the problems with crappy plans (I think I know which ones are they), I'd have warned you but I haven't noticed this thread until now. I was collecting some intel about the Vipers some time ago, because I considered making a detailed model too, but I left...

Is there another unfolding software than Pepakura Designer? Free?

There is an unfold plugin included in blender 2.49 (which I still use), for newer versions you're probably looking for this: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?186071-Export-Paper-Model-Script-for-2-6-WIP

    Building my own Y wing(s)

Synthetic sprays should work just fine, just be sure to apply it in thin layers and let them dry thoroughly.

    Detailed Tie-Interceptor

The panels' were something close to 45cm high x 36cm wide on the filming models (sources differ a bit), the "ball"'s diameter was ~14cm. So you are close to half studioscale. What that was (1/24? 1/16?), that's a whole another question.
